A little narrower than most of the plastic ones you get with the shirts but they work as intended.As I wear modern business shirts I have only very little use of the longer stiffeners. Still good value.

One of the mysteries of life is how collar stiffeners either go missing or end up broken or sad, bent and twisted at the bottom of the washing machine.Part of the problem is that once upon a time all shirts had bones, as we used to call them, so it was second nature to remove them for washing. These days they are not as common as many shirts have button down collars, soft collars or built in stiffeners, so the habit has been lost.These stainless stiffeners come in four sizes so should cover pretty well any shirt. Stiffeners are stiffeners so are hardly any different to plastic in use, and, so far, the novelty has meant they have been removed for washing.That will pass though and no doubt in a short while they will end up in a shirt in the washing machine. They seem tough enough and strong enough to survive unscathed and are large enough to avoid slipping through the drum yet small enough to avoid causing any damage – much the same as a loose coin I would imagine.The rounded edges should greatly reduce the chances of damage to the collar if they don’t slip out during the wash and being stainless they won’t rust or leave stains so, hopefully, there will be no harm done.The box is handy to keep them in, at least you should know where the stiffeners are, and it is perhaps telling that there are five pairs of each size which I suspect is not so much on the basis buyers will have 20 shirts, but more that even in indestructible steel, shirt stiffeners will still go missing.

Perfect to make the corners of my husbands shirt neat and tidy for a wedding, will come in useful for many other events.

The stays are perfectly fine, but the box is just 2 or 3 mm too wide so that when the box is moved, the stays get all jumbled up. If the box fit them more snugly they would not do this and it's very frustrating.

They are nice but I think they should be wider, they can easily fall from some of my shirts 😢.

Simple set of solid collar stays that I've been using for a couple of years now. I finally decided to take the plunge after snapping one too many plastic stays that come with the shirts, or losing them in the washer. This set does the trick. I wear a dress shirt five days a week (in pre-covid days, anyway). There's a good variety of sizes to support my different shirt styles, and they are easy to store in the handy little plastic case. Don't expect a ton of frills with this set--but hey, we're talking about collar stays here. With this many, I don't know that I'll ever need to buy again, and definitely worth the upfront cost.

So good to have plenty of metal inserts of various sizes. Don't have to worry about them going through the watching machine or losing them.
