Debuting on Disney+ in 2019, the first live-action "Star Wars" television series is a western-flavored adventure, chronicling the exploits of a bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) belonging to the warrior culture known as the Mandalorians. In the years following the Empire's defeat, the Mandalorian becomes the unlikely guardian to a mysterious Force-wielding alien child, risking his own life to ensure his charge's safety. Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Amy Sedaris co-star.8 episodes on 2 discs. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English. Review: WTF ! - Provisional five stars for the most outrageous purchase of the year for me. Never seen any of them and hated the spin-off films I bought in 3D versions; black bar widescreen should have warned me. But the films themselves are terrible, only getting twenty minutes into Rogue What. Added to all that it was only when I unwrapped the cardboard envelope and slid the Mandalorian out did I realise I had bought a 4K set! I may have seen UHD at point of sale but no thought given. Only on the card sleeve of this steelbook did I spy ‘4K Ultra HD + Blu-Ray.’ I did, however, enjoy the six movies of Star Wars with special affection for that original one which I saw in glorious Cinerama. One thing I have noticed is the reduction of music through the film series and in that light I try to redress in my video (insert raspberry here). The light saber and that music were part of my schooldays. So it is with some, no a lot of, trepidation that I will view the otherwise unviewable The Madalorian tonight, £45 and each episode is only 37 mins and Star Wars credits tend to go on a bit. If its total fungas watch for a steel glint in the sky tonight. UPDATE: Viewed disc one and am enjoying viewing especially on 10ft projection. There is a Play All option but its still all episodes not only including Credits but also a Previously On... at start of Episode 2,3,4. And they really are short episodes! You get used to 40, 50 or 55mins per episode these days. Not 30-35. Ridley Scott's Raised by Wolves has the edge here and is full widescreen Both, however, are teenage fair. I shall keep this set and watch the final second disc four episodes but unless something truly engaging happens I will not be ordering January's Series 2. They are Westerns for the handscreen generation. Review: Great series - A great season and very impressive steelbook

So is this a official release of the Star Wars TV show in a steelbook?
So , for anyone not familiar with this Star Wars TV show (anyone under the age of 25)? by now I will explain it in simple terms, the premise of it the Mandalorian is a main character who protects this baby like Yoda character from facing danger elements In the episodes themselves. There heavy on character study, where you see the Mandalorian character doing lots of things on his own that move the story forward and yes as you would expect in these Star Wars TV shows it does feature star wars style action scenes and special effects that help move the story along, it's not just Star Wars action to make it a pretty scene or something. This first season was a lot better than the Star Wars feature films they made recently The Force awakens, the last Jedi and the rise of skywalker. They should make more Star Wars TV shows, with different star wars characters in them. I know they have made the Obi - Wan Kenobi TV show and the Boba Fett TV show . For example make of a Knights of the Old Republic TV series, that would be pretty interesting seeing it on a HBO network. I think this TV show would appeal to the under 25 TV audience of today as well as older viewers that still like the original Star Wars feature films.

One of three. Excellent steelbook editions available.
The Mandalorian (Star Wars) three seasons in total (Three Steelbook Sets) containing that seasons episodes. Four dvds in each Steelbook, two blueray hd dvds and two 4k hd dvds of that seasons episodes. As well as some picture art cards. Quality well worth the price in my opinion

The original Star Wars magic perfectly mixed into this great series!
Despite this starting out as a slow burner, the Star Wars magic is still sparking it's way through this fantastic TV series. Being one who viewed,.. & fell under the spell of the original film trilogy, I LOVED this Mandalorian series. I am also delighted that Disney saw fit to release a hard copy of this series for global fans, & remain hopeful that the powers that be see fit to continue their policy. The Mandalorian is a great series that leaves you begging for more!

After it arrived I compared it with the streaming version on Disney+ (which looks great in 4K) but the picture, and especially the sound, are both clearly superior on 4K disc to the streaming version (which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone). And now I own it forever and can watch it with the best picture and best sound even if the streaming service drops the show (which is becoming more and more common for streaming services to do nowadays) or decides to make us pay a ton extra every month for 4K (like Netflix--and now even Max do) or you want to always have access to the original version (some material is sometimes censored or edited over time on streaming services and the original versions we first saw can no longer be seen on streaming--something most people are unaware of). Since the streaming services now keep changing the rules on us, the ONLY way to insure you will always have access to shows and movies you love in the best quality and in their original versions is to own them on disc! Just a fact of modern life. Movies like The French Connection have been edited on streaming (disc is the only way to see it in the original unedited form that won the Oscar for Best Picture) and some movies, like Cocoon, cannot be streamed at all! And they aren't the ONLY ones! Thank goodness I own the discs of many of the edited or unavailable titles I love! Thank you Disney for listening to we fans and making this available to us. We love you for doing this. You are THE BEST! How about Andor next, pretty, pretty please? If you love this show and want to make sure you can ALWAYS see it as it is now, and in the best quality too, then do the smart thing and get the discs!
