The chains are awesome and they look freaking great right out the box! I've gotten compliments galore and everyone thinks it's real and I have to inform them it's not. Bottom line though is I've had mine for about a year and I wear mine everyday and put them through a lot of wear and tear honestly and they've started to fade a bit (this was expected...I bought a gold PLATED chain and didn't expect it to shine forever like solid gold hence why I paid about $4,900 less for it). I emailed lifetime and told them that they had started to fade a bit and was honestly just going to purchase another to replace it and decided to email just in case and without hesitation they asked for the order number to find out what type of chain and boom had me another sent right away! I was shocked! The LIFETIME name is for a reason! Thats all you need to know right there!! (Is for me at least) They stand behind their product and it's very reasonable in price and it looks freaking great!! Can't beat that!

My college age daughter (of all things) requested a heavy gold chain for her birthday. I started looking at solid gold chains and immediately began looking at other alternatives because those things are insanely expensive, and there ain't no way I'm putting one large on my kid's neck where it can be lost or stolen in the dorms. Found this chain on Amazon. At first I was skeptical, but then once I read the manufacturer's description of how it's made, I thought I'd give it a try given Amazon's excellent return policies. I couldn't be more thrilled that I did. I opened up the packaging to take a look and while I'm no jewelry or gold expert, it indeed looked like the real thing and not off the shelf from Claire's - very heavy, and very shiny actual gold. My daughter absolutely LOVES it. She says she receives compliments on it all the time. Unless someone needed the vanity of knowing they'd spent the money on a solid gold chain, I have no idea why anyone would want to spend more, because no one else can tell. This for all outward intents and purposes IS the real deal.

When it first arrives the necklace is beautiful. Nice weight. Nice shine and nice overall quality. I ordered 2 pieces. A 22 inch and a 20 inch. I ordered both to see which one would look nicer on me. I (m19 5’7” 135 pounds) found that 20 inches looks nice on me for the style I’m going for. I only wore that necklace 2 days a week for 6 hours for a month and a half. I used it for college. I wasn’t sweaty or moving a lot. I made sure to be cautious and not to rub it a lot with my clothes or skin to avoid it from fading. I didn’t shower with it or nothing like that. So in roughly 72 hours of light wear the chain started visibly fading. I was really disappointed. I had other chains ( plated 18k 24 inch) from Mexico last me 1 1/2 years before then showed any signs of fading. If the description is to be trusted, I believe 24k is just too soft of gold to be on a chain. It’s a bummer really. The necklace is really nice just doesn’t last long. I've had my 24k gold chain for 7 years as of the date of thisnreview and mine hasn't tarnished, yet. The length was spot on and the chain is hefty. The perfect gift for yourself. 🤭

It’s fading in color

Overall the picture speaks for itself. I very much like the 3mm size. I don't think I would go bigger than 5mm before it starts to look somewhat tack for daily use. I haven't had issues with the quality however I would not recommend working out or showering with it. I did go on a short run with it on and I had no issued in terms of discoloration. I personally chose this brand instead of other because they claim it's 24k gold plated on bronze where others do 14k on steel. I have not tried others so I cannot speak to how much the manufacturing difference affects quality. However, I am happy with the purchase. Total comes out to about 75 so it's not cheap but I am satisfied. The weight is also very comfortable and heavier than other 20 dollar ones. Comes in a small little bag. I will update in a few months if I notice any changes in quality.

Product did not come with tag of authenticity. Wasn't expecting solid gold obviously, but took it to a jeweler friend and he said it was just garbage. NOT made in the USA as described - made in China. Colour is way off compared to gold. Buy elsewhere for sure.

Bought this as a gift and the receiver loves it. Perfect thickness (7mm) and length. Good finish is perfect.
