Excellent study guide for ITIL® Life Cycle Certifications / exams
I wish I'd known about "ITIL® Intermediate Certification Companion Study Guide" book before buying the complete set of the ITIL® 2011 Intermediate manuals! If you’re familiar with the ITIL® Framework, you'll be aware the full set of five heavyweight (7.1Kg) manuals lists on Amazon at over £555 for the set, and although the official TSO (The Stationery Office) set looks impressive on your bookshelf at work, they're more used as a status statement than for practical reference! The "ITIL® Intermediate Certification Companion Study Guide" is a concise and comprehensive book covering all the essential aspects of the ITIL® printed manuals necessary to guide you on the ITIL® best practice and principles needed to take the intermediate Life Cycle exams - with the added advantage of being portable. This book covers all the essential points to know about the five stages of the ITIL® Service Lifecycle:- Service Strategy- Service Design- Service Transition- Service Operation- Continual Service ImprovementYou’ll find the topic review questions very useful to verify your understanding as you progress through the service life cycle chapters. These question sections are essential exam prep and the understanding you will gain on the ITIL® terms and references will give you the confidence you need to take the exams if that’s your intention. Finally, the book contains many of the diagrams from the official TSO manuals which was a very pleasant surprise! See photo showing TSO (left)ITIL® Intermediate Certification Companion (right).

Excellent resource for ITIL
Helped me through my intermediate SO exam. The online resources that come with the book I didn’t think were much good but the book itself is well laid out and easy to follow. The review questions for each chapter were useful

Highly recommended for preparing for these challenging exams.
This is an incredibly comprehensive, well structured and clear publication. Anyone who is taking one (or more) of the ITIL Lifecycle or Capability exams will find this a useful revision aid, with key subject areas summarised. The exam essentials and the review questions are also helpful study aids.Highly recommended for preparing for these challenging exams.

Helped me to pass all five...
I used the authors' certification guide for the foundation exam, and I passed with a 97.5%. So, I decided to use their certification guide for the five intermediate exams. The difference, of course, is that I had to take a certified training class. For this, I used CertifyCheap/HarryBaker's online courses, since I did not want to spend $2,000 per exam on live training classes. Before I watched the online videos, I read each chapter twice and took notes on it. After I watched the online videos, I studied the notes, took the end-of-chapter tests, and took two practice tests twice. To be honest, the videos did not add much value. But this certification guide was worth its weight in gold. I passed with one 80% score, two 85% scores, and two 90% scores.

Very good book, I love it
This book is an excellent work by the authors. Very detailed and explained very well. The examples and side notes are quite good. I found it very useful for my ITIL intermediate examinations, SD and SO and shortly will be attending ST examinations, the lone examination to complete ITIL Intermediate. This book is worth the purchase and the authors are very experienced and this book is a great companion for practitioners.
