Landmann fire basket just the job.
Fire basket arrived well packaged and in mint condition despite being a "warehouse" deal. The fire basket was easy to put together with an easy to follow instructions booklet. You will require a few tools to build it: a Phillips head (+) screwdriver and a spanner. If you follow the instructions to the letter, unpackage all the parts and have a quick look over all the parts to plan your build, it shouldn't take any more than 30mins to build it up.The Fire basket is of good quality. It looks the part compared to most fire pits / baskets we have seen. It is of a decent height and comes with a nice feature of a coal tray and cooking rack should you fancy cooking something bbq style. Personally, I only wanted this to burn logs, sensitive mail, garden waste etc but it's nice to have the option and I'm sure I'll give it a try at some point. (there are specific instructions with regards to treating the fire basket/coal tray before cooking on it and I would recommend you read and follow these instructions)Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase. It looks great, good airflow and gives off a good heat.Like everything to do with fire, be sensible where you put this. Consider sparks and what they might be able to ignite and have a bucket of water or garden hose available if you need to use it. Be prepared, be safe ! ;)

Marshmallows at the ready!
I bought this because I wanted a "fire pit" that was a little narrower or compact than most I had seen (or owned) and I specifically wanted something a little more open than a traditional chiminea. This fits the bill perfectly and will hold a decent fire.It is a bit fiddly to put together - it's not especially difficult, but because the unit comes flat packed and because there are so many (so very many....) nuts and bolts, it is a little time consuming. It took me about an hour, armed with a decent cross head screwdriver and a small spanner. If you find this kind of thing too off-putting, either find some help or look elsewhere (for context, each "upright" has a bolt and the bottom and another at the top; where the three legs meet the base there is an additional bolt; each handle requires two bolts and there are three to attach the burner to the bottom tray). When finished, the burner is a sturdy unit with a nice removable charcoal pan (in the picture, it's the shelf just less than half-way down) and a good grill attachment which simply lifts off when not needed. The burner screws to the floor tray, which isn't entirely apparent from the pictures. I guess you could skip that step, as the log burner stands well enough without it. It does, however, add to the sturdiness of the unit.In terms of quality, this is exactly what I expected. It is constructed of good quality steel, certainly of sufficient guage to withstand several years of use if it's looked after. If left outside with no cover, I'm sure it will rust and that will reduce the life span. A cover will be an easy thing to find for something of this size and it is small enough to store in a garage or shed when not in use.Overall, I'm really pleased. A good buy, and cheaper than the local garden centre which is selling the exact same item!

Great fire basket
I bought this mostly for something to burn my garden rubbish and to look decorative. Its flat packed, is easy to put together although it does take an hour. I think its German made, certainly has a feel of German build quality about it. I find it quite sturdy and its perfect for burning garden waste. Haven't used the grill yet but I am enjoying clearing the garden. Does a great job and useful ash collector I can put all the goodness back into the soil. Great at burning logs and keeps you warm. Looks very nice when just burning some logs and throws out plenty of heat. Its guaranteed for 2 years which I was surprised at more than 1 year. At the price I would be very happy to get anything over 2 years use but with the build quality of this, I think I will be happily burning for much more than that. Looking forward to cooking on it. Highly recommend this fire basket.

Eaters and Heaters....works for both
This is the best of both world, heater and BBQ and so, so easy to assemble. We are not big BBQ fans, having had a large gas range BBQ for years I think we may have overdosed on BBQ food, so to have access to this which can sit close to the table is enough for us. That said, you could cook for 4 with some planning. There are many similar to this design but having looked at a lot of them, this one ( for me) does what it needs to do but won't break the bank doing it.

Worth the money and well manufactured.
For the money, this is very good. It does take about an hour to assemble as there are an awful lot of screws. The only issue I had was that a single nut wasn't threaded properly so I had to go buy a replacement screw/nut.I also purchased some stove paint and sprayed it first - to act as better protection against weather - but for the price I don't think I've seen a better product.

Good BBQ but arrived chipped
Good heavy fire pit BBQ. Quite difficult and time consuming to put together. But looks good. Not used yet though. The grill is really close to the coal pan might burn food quickly but not tested yetOnly problem is the chrome coating on the grill and the black on BBQ pan is damaged in 3 places so is likely to rush quickly. Not worth returning it for but is a shame.

it's perfect, and loads of times for a burn up
Have used this dozens of times for the bbq, it's perfect, and loads of times for a burn up, and a 'camp' fire, will lose the enamel paint naturally, and has gone rusty a bit, but that has to be expected, this has been a very worthwhile purchase, good stuff
