Not for 66 year olds like me.
I've been a Lego fan since my childhood when all you got was a box full of bricks and bits and the rest was left to your imagination, what's happened, i was really looking forward to re living my youth and flexing my mind just a bit but now you get an app to download that holds your hand and almost builds it for you, i will admit this new Lego is a very complexed bit of kit but in all honesty if it only builds the thing in the manual ( in this case a mario themed sunken pirate ship ), what happened to building something that you imagined yourself, i suppose you can use some of the bricks to build something else but i'm just old fashioned and a bit shocked at what Lego has become today. But that's not to say the younger generation won't get a ton of fun with this Lego kit and the app that shows you how to build it. What i will also say is the bricks fit so well together much better than when i was a kid, Lego have done well with that and all the added colour to these new Lego sets is a great bonus too IMO, so go grab some Lego and build something.

Fabulous Lego Shipwreck
As this is an expansion pack so to really get the most out of the Super Mario Dorrie's Sunken Shipwreck Adventure in needs to be paired with the 'Adventures with Mario Starter Course.' However, it can still be used as a stand alone toy for Lego and/or Super Mario fans as my grandson will attest to. There is no Super Mario interactive figure included as it comes with the Starter Course set. The bricks are all in numbered bags making construction a bit easier. There is a step-by-step instruction manual and also a QR code to download the App that has a video tutorial which really aids construction. My six and a half year old grandson loves to play with it when he comes over. He had some assistance from granddad to build it originally, to which granddad didn't mind one bit! He enjoys taking it apart and rebuilding it, or just playing around with the bricks generally. Like I say, best used in conjunction with the Starter kit that contains the interactive Mario figure, but nevertheless this expansion packs keeps the grandson amused and that is what counts.

Great lego set for the Mario series, and fun on its own!
The LEGO Super Mario Dorrie's Sunken Shipwreck Adventure Expansion Set is an absolute blast for kids and adults alike! As someone who grew up playing with LEGO sets and now enjoys sharing the experience with my own children, I can confidently say that this set is a winner. First off, the attention to detail in this set is outstanding. From Dorrie's Sunken Shipwreck to the Cheep Cheep and Blooper gaming character figures, every element feels meticulously designed to capture the essence of the Super Mario universe. The interactive features, like the spinning platform and the ability to defeat enemies, add an extra layer of excitement to the building process and gameplay. It's truly impressive how LEGO and Super Mario have come together to create such an immersive experience. Moreover, this set encourages creativity and problem-solving skills in children, as they can customize and rearrange the elements to create new challenges and adventures for Mario to conquer. Overall, the LEGO Super Mario Dorrie's Sunken Shipwreck Adventure Expansion Set is a fantastic addition to any LEGO collection. It's sure to provide hours of fun and imaginative play for kids aged 7 and up, making it the perfect gift for gamers of all ages!

A nice add-on set for the Super Mario Course.
This set is designed as an add-on for the Super Mario Starter Course set, sold separately. While it does have some playability as a standalone set, you really do need the Starter Course and the Mario, Luigi or Princess Peach figure to get the best out of it. The set has the now familiar Lego presentation - box containing a series of bags with the various parts in, and a step-by-step instruction booklet. As with all Lego sets, the instructions are excellent. You can also get help with this set via a downloadable app. This isn't the most involved or complex build, but there's some nice mechanical sections, and the four included characters (Dorrie, Cheep Cheep, Cheep Chomp, and Blooper) are cute. From opening the box to having a completed set took just over an hour. The idea with these Mario sets is that you chain them all together to create game "levels" with interactive features for the electronic Mario figures. There are barcoded trigger points on certain blocks that are read by the electronic figures to trigger effects and sounds. It's a really nice idea, but it does mean that these individual add-on sets are a bit limited on their own. It's not completely useless without the Starter Course though. Imaginative kids will find plenty of playability as it's a cool looking shipwreck and the character models are pretty good. The build quality and presentation are up to Lego's usual high standard. Due to the Nintendo licensing, the price is a little higher than other Lego sets of a similar size, but I guess that's to be expected. If you're a Super Mario fan and are interested in these course sets, then this is a really nice one to add to your collection. Only marked down due to it's limited appeal as a standalone set.

It's LEGO & Super Mario ..... What more could you really ask for ?
A lovely little extension set to go with the already extensive range or "Super Mario" Lego already on the market . This set is a great price at the currently reduced sub £35 price point .... It is ideal as a gift for any LEGO fan . Remember LEGO can be anything you want it to ..... You can NEVER make a mistake gifting any LEGO to any LEGO Fan no matter what the subject !! The set went together nicely & there are some really nice little touches around the whole "Diorama / Scene" Mine has gone into my LEGO City with all of my Underwater sets & looks great ..... See it doesn't just have to be Mario ! Hope this helps ...... An old A.F.O.L 😁
