Leather repair kit
Leather repair kit works very good. Bought 2 kits it for a friend of mine. He used it to repair sun damage on a 3 piece sofa set he bought 2nd hand. The sofa & love seat were a deep brown. The sofa had lighted significantly because of sun damage. The ottoman was originally a light beige. All 3 had a final color of deep brown & looked new. No one can believe how good they came out. Loved leather repair kit. Highly recommend

I had low expectations. I was WRONG!
I forgot to take photos but wish I had. I didn't think this would do much more than the brown shoe polish I was using and which would no longer cover the cracks in my leather chair. Now, it's not my favorite thing to be proven wrong, but this time I am delighted. I'd studied information from leather experts, read about a jillion reviews, watched a couple of videos, and decided I'd give it my best DIY effort. I followed the initial directions to a T, especially the part about waiting for each application to dry before proceeding. So it's not a one-and-done thing; not a one-hour or even one-day project because it takes time for each layer of filler to dry and cure, but patience and time worked miracles for me here. But after the cracks had all but disappeared, I got excited and wanted to skimp out on the last step, the mink oil. DON'T! I learned (the hard way) that those invisible layers of protection are really the most important ones. Because I did have to perform corrective surgery on my botched and hurried steps, I found that misting the alcohol from a very fine spray bottle allowed me to better control the application. My chair looks almost brand new and I had enough leftover balm filler that I used it on a worn pair of shoes with the same result. I'm sold and have recommended the product to friends as well.

Works well!
This product works very well, considering I donโt have any experience with leather repair! I have a cat that put claw marks all over my white leather sofa. I lived with the damage for several years, but one day, while watching tv, I decided to do something about it & found this product on Amazon. The instructions were easy to follow, & my sofa looks monumentally better now!!! I turned on a show on Netflix & in one evening fixed all of the torn up spots on the couch. The work blends in pretty well! If you are looking hard, you can see where there is a slight variation in color, but for the most part, it just looks so much better, overall. The kit does not come with a way to alter the tone of the white repair substance - this was the only setback. But I took the sponge & tried to blend the product in with the surrounding leather as much as possible. It certainly looks a lot better than it did! It was also a fun project, too.

Easy to use.
This product has great coverage . I was pleased with the outcome, however the applicators leave a lot of room for improvement! The sponge applicator wasn't any bigger than a .50 piece and fell apart within 5 minutes. The soft cloth applicators , which I assumed were for the mink oil were way too small. They were the same size the sponge applicator.

Effective Leather Colorant Kit
I cleaned a trace amount of splattered white paint drops from a leather chair arm & seat using saddle soap and a moistened microfiber cloth. It ended up removing some of the original leather coloring. I used this kit in an extremely sparing manner to blotch just enough coloring onto the faded areas so they blend in at a casual glance and only close inspection shows the fading and darker color touchup. Tested a drop of water first per instructions to make sure the leather finish was not absorbent. I used a cotton swab to apply just a small amount of balm to a dry microfiber cloth wrapped around my index finger, dabbed the cloth onto a paper towel till it left only a faint mark then lightly dabbed the faded areas of the leather with the cloth. Worked quite well. When I first did an inconspicuous hidden area of the back edge of the seat pillow, I dabbed the cotton swab directly onto the leather. Came out way too dark and showed the overlap of each dab. While that was still moist I dabbed the cloth onto the moist balm then dabbed that lightly onto the adjacent test area and saw I could get a very light covering just for blending purpose. The mink oil gives a very smooth glossy finish. Interested to see if that lasts or dries and needs to be repeated every so often. The balm did not rub off the test area as I applied the mink oil. I can't speak to coloring an entire piece with this kit. It has worked very well for cosmetic touchup of small faded areas. Update: used some saddle soap on a moist microfiber cloth intending to wear off the test spots & was surprised to see the balm & mink oil immediately rubbed right off. So this colorant is just a kind of temporary makeup for leather. Not surprising. Chemicals for making and coloring & preserving leather are really strong stuff. Will be careful to use only mink oil on the touched up areas and see if the balm lasts or wears off just from using the chair.

Amazing! Dyed automotive leather seats perfectly!
Decided to try changing the color from burgundy to black on a set of seats from a 1984 Porsche 911. These are 100% leather seats that were faded and scuffed but otherwise in decent shape. I was going to recover the seats so I disassembled and removed the covers, then washed and cleaned the leather very well. Then used the cleaner from this kit and re-dyed them with the dye in this kit. The result was amazing! Far exceeded my expectations! I also used the same kit on some of the other vinyl items in the car, the product also seems to work well on the dashboard and door pulls and arm rests. Saved me thousands of dollars in upholstery work.

NOT leather dye, will not soak in & recolor scratches & cracks
The colorant goo is water based paint, NOT DYE AS ADVERTISED! I wanted to hide scratches & fine cracks on my gray leather chair & couch, but all this does is sit on top. If you attempt to wipe off excess, it ALL comes off. I cannot vouch for the cleaner (I used Chemical Guys cleaner) or the mink oil conditioner (I used Leather Honey), so for me, this is USELESS. Returning for refund. Buyer beware!
