Wanted a small lightweight kettle for use in my cabin on Brittany ferries when I'm travelling to Spain, the tea and coffee on the boat is utterly utterly vile, from a machine, even in the so called restaurants, the coffee especially is unbelievably horrible, tasteless watery crap. I make my coffee in my cabin in a spill proof insulated travel mug so I can go up and drink it in the lounge. Tried a couple of little 0.5l kettles, some with higher wattage, however they all were really not satisfactory, many having short fixed leads or problematic lids etc. This kettle looks quite well made, plastic outer, stainless steel inner. Boils around 350ml of cold water in around 2.5 to 3mins, a full kettle of 500ml of cold water takes around 4 mins, which is fine for my use, its compact, it has a detachable base, and a nice touch is the cable, which is about 22” or 56cm long, winds into the base, really neat. The lid is of the ”flip open” type, very easy. The kettle switches off automatically when the water has boiled. One caveat, don't get too enthusiastic when pouring out the hot water, use common sense, if you go too mad water will escape from the lid but you really need to be going for it for that to happen. Cannot vouch for longevity, time will tell…if you want a compact lightweight kettle, low wattage that does not take an age to boil, this could be it. EDIT/30/08/25 Used this kettle maybe half a dozen times no, things to note, lid does not "latch" so if your too enthusiastic pouring water out the lid can flip oen and boiling water everywhere, neither does the lid seal, so again boiling water can spray out of the sides of the lid if your too enthusiastic, lastly, it now does not switch off when boiling...so whilst initially I thought it was ok, it's just the same cheap Chinese crap that most stuff is these days, and I'll look again.

Brilliaint little kettle, well made, well thought out right down to how you wind the cable in. Boils a full load in five minutes, one mug in two minutes. Last, but important, so very easy to clean.

Needed a small kettle for use on travels. This is perfect, and having a stainless steel chamber, it eliminates any plastic taste. Also, having a separate removable base with a retractable cord made it easy to use. Makes two mug size cups and boils in about 4 minutes

Great little kettle. All metal inside. NO PLASTIC. 2 cups. The best is the on/off switch is on the top of the handle. No accidental switch on a empty kettle 👍

Works perfectly , some people complain it always goes to 100C, but that is user error: You can perfectly dial it up to for example 70C, it will stop at 70C unless you have the option (kind of default) to first boil (the right push button), then let it cool and keep on 70C TIP: "Read the manual attentively." It looks like a simple appliance, however if simple appliences do not do what you expect/want, first read the manual from beginning to end. If the most right button/option is lit, it will go to 100C first, If you do not want that, make it go off by pressing it.
