I was very pleased with this kit. The items are sturdy, the instructions are pretty straightforward and the little case is perfect to keep everything together. I got this for my 5 year old and it’s a little too old for her but I purchased a similar set for my 9 year old and it’s perfect. Great for older kids or some who have more experience.

I just received this kit that I am giving to my 6 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas. I think she's going to love it. I'll update if I find any issues once she uses it. I like that it has a little needle threader, and includes a book of patterns (on thick shiny plasticky paper, like the kind in dry erase books), the case is sturdy cardboard and very cute, and that the designs are appealing to what she is into right now. Will be able to easily buy more felt to use the same patterns, needles, etc, over and over, although there's a lot of felt included. Will probably need more stuffing eventually, but that's not a big deal to me. This is a little more open ended than another kit she had done with precut pieces, so she might need more help, but I think she's old enough and that this is the appropriate level for her.After Christmas update: my daughter loved this and made this little project. The only help she needed at 6 was tying the knots in the thread. She really likes the designs offered in this kit.NOV 2019 UPDATE:My daughter still loves this kit. Now that the weather is cold, she is using it again. And now her 5 year old sister wants one for Christmas.

My niece absolutely loves this kit! She loves all things sewing and was so exciting to try this out. It kept her occupied for a long time and even enjoyed the projects after she finished them! Great buy.

Felt included is not large enough. The cloud and star projects are small enough to be cut out of the provided fabric. However both of the unicorn projects are too big. You may be able to cut one body piece out of a square but the second body piece has to be cut from a different color as both sides cannot fit on one piece of felt.However, if you don't mind buying some larger felt to go along with it, that's not a big problem. It does have clear instructions and would be a good starter set for a young child interested in sewing.

I am a quilter and bought this kids sewing kit to donate to Toys For Tots. It is really adorable! I can imagine any little girl who enjoys arts and crafts would love learning to sew with this sewing kit. The case has a pretty tiny rainbow print that is made of a pressed cardboard material. It is sturdy enough to hold sewing projects. Everything you need to sew is included along with a small red tomato pin cushion! I loved it!

I bought these for both of my daughters and found them to be a great introduction to sewing. Just enough of the real things but in a way that keeps it simple and fun. They have both loved sewing unicorns and clouds with me.

I bought this for my daughter for her 8th birthday. She has been talking about wanting to sew so I thought this would be the perfect gift.She was so happy when she opened this present on her birthday. The projects are cute and the supplies are really cute as well.My big complaints are the instructions are not the best. I was hoping for something a little more comprehensive. Also the marker they give you to trace the patterns on the felt is awful. It bled through the felt to the front and got all over our fingers as we were sewing.If you are giving this to someone who knows a bit about sewing I think it would be great. If not you may want to look for something else.
