Q: How much is the total weight that this will hold?

Probably not too much. It isn't the sturdiest rack I have. I had to fix it as it arrived with one of the end hooks broken off. It's only for an art studio so my daughter only hangs her paint drapes & her apron on it, nothing too heavy.

Q: With different screws, could this be used outdoors? I’m looking for an all-metal rack to hang on the side of the house by a hot tub.

As long as you don't plan on hanging anything heavy on it, it might. When mine came one of the hooks had sheared off as the weld wasn't great. I sanded it, welded the hook back on & repainted it so it looks great now & hangs the drop cloths & aprons in my daughter's art studio just fine. If you are planning it for towels & things like that, you are probably fine. Good luck.

Q: What are the actual size of each hook?

From the bottom bend of the hook to the top of the hook is 4.75". 3.25" between the top hook knob and bottom hook knob. They easily hold a coat on each of the knobs, so if your mounting is solid, it should hold twelve coats.

The screw holes are 9 inches apart, or 18 inches between the outer holes.
