Tap Cartridge Replacement Set, Compatible with Franke Ascona (3308R), Pair of Quarter-Turn Ceramic Tap Valves with Allen Key

Bought these as my Franke tap started to drip after only 18 months. The tap was quite expensive but have noticed that the quality of Franke has really dropped over the past few years. Original inserts from Franke cost 4x the price of these. Not wishing to waste any more money with Franke thought I would try these. Easy to fit, even come with a hex key to remove the handles. No more dripping tap, very pleased with my purchase.

Perfect, they arrived on time and fitted in 10 mins, drip free , can’t fault the valves, the only thing I can fault is the postage and package was £4:99.I don’t use Amazon enough to buy on Prime so I found this expensive??????

As a replacement for the Franke Ascona tap I should give it 5 stars. You won't find a better replacement elsewhere. My gripe is with the design of the original valve. I expect a ceramic tap valve to last the life of the tap - I've taps that have worked for 30 years without problems. These cartridges have a plastic washer which degrades and causes leakage within a short time. The handle action becomes noticeably loose. I suspect adding a suitable O-ring might cure the problem but I haven't had time to investigate. Don't think it's an easy task to unscrew the original cartridge. You need a long offset ring spanner and a strong arm. One tip: use the tap handle to finally position the cartridge before inserting the screw rather than using the spanner.
