Fit 20 year old MSR Dromedary Bag without leaking.
I had read reviews that stated that this new style (3-in-1) cap would probably leak if applied to an older MSR Dromedary bag. Yet, there were also 5 star reviews. I decided to take a chance. It screws on smoothly and doesn't leak.

Just what I needed.
Works just as described. Fits my 4 liter bag like original and fits with my life straw filter. Wish it had a way to attach to bag. Reason I lost the original.

Works great, doesn’t leak
Replaced a leaking screw top and now there are no leaks. Added an o-ring to the tiny hole for a lanyard and used a small carabiner to keep the top from getting lost.

It’s a lid.
This very well may be the perfect lid for any number of reasons.BUT—-After only a few weeks of use (hadn’t even had the opportunity to be abused) — it broke whilst washing in the sink....I’ve been a fan of MSR for as long as I can remember and nothing I’ve ever owned from them has ever broken or in any manner of speaking suddenly became incapable of serving its intended purpose. It’s an accomplished sense of disappointment but I’ll chock it up as some sort of fluke.The top disk shaped part of the lid (where the inner threads meet the outer grip) simply separated.As if it were two pieces molded together rather than one solid piece. I don’t see the option to post a picture or else I would. Possibly a result of thermal expansion but I’m not a scientist. It was paired with the alpine bottle.It’s unfortunate to have it break but I’ll be buying another or several.

It leaks.
This cap did not fit well on the dromedary and it leaked right out of the package.

Love the new design.
The new design is excellent with the exception of the string that attaches the small cap to the large cap. The intent is you won't lose the small cap when you take it off but it makes it difficult to install and remove the small cap. I've never lost a cap before so I'm cutting the string. Some of the reviews complained of leakage. Mine does not leak. I've been using MSR products for 40 years and they have always been a standout for performance and durability. Their customer service is also excellent.

Robust und dicht, aber unpraktische Umsetzung der 3-in-1 Lösung
Der Verschluss an sich macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck und ist auch dicht. Die Bedienung ist aber äußerst umständlich.Der kleine abschraubbare Ausguss ist mit einer viel zu kurzen Schnur am großen Teil des Verschlusses gesichert. Will man nun direkt aus dem Wassersack trinken, muss man den kleinen Ausguss umständlich unter der Sicherungsschnur herausschrauben, weil sie viel zu kurz und immer im Weg ist. Das Öffnen ist im Dunklen ein fast unmögliches Unterfangen. Hier muss ich mich um eine alternative Sicherung kümmern.Den Durchfluss der kleinsten Öffnung finde ich persönlich zu gering. Es dauert ewig, bis man damit eine Tasse gefüllt hat.
