Best in class by far!
**January 2019. I have used this product for several months now, and I wonder how I did without it! I have needed it for my back, leg and hip. The size, shape and the adjustable strap, I can easily put it where I need it, and strap it on, or not use the strap at all. I prefer to use it heated. It stays hot for a long time, but my niece borrowed it, and used it cold, and said it was perfect. Because I love this so much, I also bought the ankle/foot version. I will never be without it! I bought a different brand's pack, the gel oozed out when heated, and it didn't stay hot or warm long. I decided to trust this one, with a lifetime guarantee, right? I have a bad knee, the only thing that helps is a heat. I mentally noted the time, trying to figure out how long it actually stayed therapeutically warm. I thought I had to be mistaken, so I wrote the time down, and wrote notes as time went on. I heated this as directed, 90 seconds in the microwave. I had to do as told, and used a towel under it. It stayed hot for close to an hour! Then I put it directly on my knee, and got about 10 more minutes of use, giving it an hour+ of theraputic heat. This feels so much better than a heating pad too! I have to give this 5 stars! I am not comfortable with cold right now, but I would bet money, it stays cold longer than hot. (One note:. My leg was under a comforter while using this, that may have helped keep the heat in longer) Regardless, this is the pack you want! Then add to the 5 stars, for it's proprietary strap! It works! This will work for some many areas!

Good value
I wanted everything: good coverage, easy to put on and inexpensive. I think this cold pack does a pretty good job. In its stock configuration the straps are too short for me (6' 0", 190 lbs) so I have to use the included extension strap. It attaches with velcro and once attached and adjusted, can be forgotten. I put my good arm (left) through the loop then lift the loop over my head with my left hand. Then I use my left hand to pull the strap until the cold pack is on my right shoulder. The pack has four panels that allow it to conform to the shoulder and provides good coverage. The strap holds the pack in position so it doesn't slide off. The pack is large enough to generously cover my shoulder. I leave the pack in my freezer when not in use. When I put the pack on, it is firm but not rock hard like ice. I could mold the material but don't need to because the way the pack is segmented. It stays cold a long time. I use it for 20-30 minutes at a time and it is still very cold afterward. For $25 I think this is pretty good value.

Quality, versatile coldpack
Tried one of these at my daughter's house and got on line and ordered one while I still had it on! The size, quality and versatility sold me right away. The strap is long enough for application to any area, and the "velcro" attachments are very high quality and hold firmly while wearing. Additionally, it remains cold longer than any cold pack I've tried, easily maintaining temperature for a 20-30 minute application. Great product

EDIT: The company replaced the item with a CURRENT version...the old one simply would NOT stay in place for me
I am leaving my previous poor review intact below, as this has happened to me far too many times on Amazon lately, but have adjusted the stars given... in this particuIar case, I received a very nice response from Thermopeutic in response to my negative review. The message said that I had received an older version of their product, and that a newer version was now being sold, one that addressed the issues I had with this. THIS IS HAPPENING FAR TOO OFTEN ANYMORE ON AMAZON, IMO. This seller was very gracious and immediately sent out the CURRENT version, which included not only a non-twisting strap...but also an extension to the strap, and a pad to put between your body and the ice pack, neither of which were included with the first ice pack. This is what I thought I was getting when I placed the original order. So this issue is nicely resolved for me. HOWEVER...why does it seem that I am getting dead stock, old stock, even used items when ordering from Amazon vendors lately? This company owned up to it and made good...Kudos to them! Why should the buyer have to deal with items that are not "quite" like what is shown/described on-site? I do NOT expect to buy the OLD version of items here! I have no idea how other people manage to keep this ice pack attached to themselves. I certainly cannot. The plastic oval connector that you must thread the strap through to make the loop that you tighten to fit your body twists and winds up using the narrow part of the oval ring as the workable section of the connector. Look at the photo of the strapping fellow who is using this on his shoulder. See how the black band fits solidly against the ice pack? Never happens for me. This issue causes the strap to slide around. The plastic oval needs to be attached in a different, stable manner. Also of note: if like me, you plan on using this as an ice pack, you will also have to deal with some sort of cloth between the ice pack and your skin. This impedes the strap even more. While the pack itself seems to provide a long-lasting chill, it is the very devil to get to stay in place. Will buy another brand next time.

Very high quality and stays cold a long time
I had a similar gel ice pack I got at a big name pharmacy 3 years ago that I liked and used often, but lately the gel has slowly been dissolving away and the strap won't stay fastened anymore. I saw this one listed on Amazon and it looked very well made. I received the Extra Large ice pack the next day after ordering it. The first thing I noticed is this product is extremely well made and robust. There are four main compartments and flexible separations between the chambers so the pack can be bent around many shapes. The strap is heavy duty and the packaging even includes an extension strap for wrapping around a larger area. As a bonus, you can also use it as a heat pack by simply boiling in water or even easier, putting it in the microwave. The directions for using hot or cold are written right on the pack itself, so no more searching around for instructions. Most of my use will be for cold on my low back and shoulder. I've used it twice since getting it yesterday and the pack comes out of the freezer very cold and stays cold for much longer than any other ice pack I've used. Thumbs up to the designer of this premium quality ice pack!

Good quality, functionality and price!
As a long-term competitive athlete with a degree in athletic training and in pharmacy, I’ve worn, applied and sold a lot of ice packs in my life. While nothing beats a bag of ice wrapped on by an ATC for deep penetrating cold, I’ve found it almost impossible to replicate that in my own home. I end up with dripping bags and poorly applied compression bandages which just unwrap or don’t stay put. I was reluctant not to use ice and instead use a gel pack but when faced with back to back 12-hour workdays without ice and a throbbing injury what’s an athlete to do? So I did my research. Took my time evaluating what my options were. I carefully viewed pictures of how various gel wraps/cold wraps could be worn AT MY SITE OF INJURY and took a chance on this product. I am currently rehab-ing a supraspinatus tear in my dominant shoulder/arm—a tough spot to reach by yourself. When I first opened the package I was impressed with the quality of the cold pack casing (a nice soft semi-velvet touch to the gel pack) and the nice think yet flexible neoprene wrap which is attachable with sturdy Velcro. The Velcro attachment is reversible for ease of use and well placed so it doesn’t stick/pull on everything. The product comes with a protective bag which you can travel with I guess. Doubt I will use that but may be helpful to some. There is an extension to the wrap which is a nice benefit should it be needed. I’ve had this product for two weeks and use multiple times a day. I am now ordering two more so I can ice more often and have in multiple locations (home and work). I would recommend to others and will likely purchase a few more in the future for our boathouse in case others need for acute injury. Seemingly excellent quality for a good price!

Plus size gal
My waist is about 49”-51” and I’m 5’7” tall. I need this pack for my lower back(lumbar). I have an upcoming procedure on my spine due to spinal stenosis. I searched every ice pack on Amazon and read reviews and questions on everyone of them. I c I Leary purchasing one at all that came with an extender strap if flimsy or not. I chose this one for the size to give enough coverage for my back and not be this little patch. I chose this one because of the extender strap. I just got it and it came with all the pieces, unlike a lot of reviews said it didn’t or people complaint with questions about the extender strap not being there. It was easy to put on and I was able to do it with both hands and it fit perfectly! And the coverage is perfect for the size of my back. I weigh 295lbs and wear a 3X in clothing. So I needed coverage. The straps are Sturdy. Being Velcro I don’t know how long they will last but right now they’re not going to come apart. If you are a larger body type or even just an average body type, buy this one. The gel in it has got a good amount of stuffing to it for it to actually keep cold for awhile and the pad conforms to the curve of my back. I am pleasantly impressed hands down buy it. Don’t waste your time reading for HOURS on end at other products reviews and questions. Don’t be turned off by any negative reviews for this one. Cheers!

Works great but the strap is way too short.
I give it a plus for its ability to keep cool for long time . And I'm giving it a negative for the strap being too short especially today where I did damage to my rotator cuff shoulder surgery trying to get the strap on. To the manufacturer please please please add an extra three inches to the damn strap.

Gel content is leaking
Gel content is leaking. I had registered for the warranty as soon as I received the order. Manufacturer doesn't honor warranty for this seller.
