Necessary but imperfect
I purchased this to help install drawer slides. The quality isn't great on either the plastic bits or the clamps, but I couldn't have gotten the job done without them. The videos show that you just clamp these in, screw in your slides and wham, you've got instant new drawer slides. I gave up on trying to level these with shims, and used them as an extra pair of hands just to get my front screws in place. Then I'd attach a magnetic level to my new slide to level it in and screw the back bracket in place loosely. I was constantly checking my levels between slides, constantly trying to keep things even, parallel and perpendicular to my drawer fronts. I could use them to screw in my first screw on my drawer fronts, but for several I had to just take the drawer out, measure and screw the bracket back in. If you have a helper, maybe you can do this on your own? Or if you feel like building your own spacers you could do without this. The clamps were helpful, but they kept loosening on their own, and I had to adjust the tension constantly. Working on my own I found this jig super helpful, but not without developing my own "technique" and I still needed other tools and levels for the job.
