If there are no other ingredients then why is the dosage so high?

I don't know. In the pill form the daily allowance is six a day. This product is terrific. Despite the fact that I have been taking calcium supplements for years, my nails were always brittle Since taking calcium lactate they are strong and really grow fast. The other major benefit of taking calcium lactate is that these minerals go to your bones, nails and hair and not into your arteries where they build up plaque. Wish I had known this year's ago.

Is the lactic acid used to make this dairy free?

This product uses L-Lactic Acid and Calcium Carbonate to create the blend and make the product dairy free

Does this dissolve best in room temp liquids? I tried making toothpaste w/it and it wouldn't dissolve in the coconut oil, which was heated.

It's a good thing if it doesn't dissolve, as that's how it attaches to your teeth better. Oil's not that great for teeth anyway (yes, I'm aware of oil pulling - still). I use oil very lightly for an after-shine effect - mainly essential oils, which aren't really oils anyway. I do: - vegetable soap with glycerin inside it (that's liquified with water to a paste-like gel) - calcium powder - geranium oil (really antimicrobial and smells/tastes nice) Then put it in a travel squeezable container.
