Excellent choice! Easy to make, has real good flavor. I added a few dehydrated mushroom slices and it's perfect. You could add tofu or chicken chunks too. I'll be buying this again.

This hot and sour soup mix is excellent. It can be used as a soup in its own right, or can be added to udon or ramen or your own concoction to make a very flavorful meal. I added a quarter of the envelope mix to my udon noodles. I added chicken and frozen vegetables and hot water to fill a medium sized bowl. I microwaved the soup for four minutes snd mixed slowly. Delicious. This method allows up to four meals. Using the product as per instructions yields four bowls. Excellent product. Highly recommended.

Recently, one of my favorite Chinese restaurants closed, after being in business for 27 years. I was devastated. I adore Hot & Sour soup, and the next closest Chinese restaurant is 35 minutes away, and doesn't have the greatest soup. I scoured the Web and found this. Some good reviews, and a few others told of a similar plight restaurants gone, craving the soup. Bought it, and took the advise of one reviewer to enhance it with some extra mushrooms, white pepper and extra firm tofu. I was astonished at the texture and the flavor!! As good or better than what I was used to from my favorite restaurant. Topped it off with some fresh chives. Now when I get a craving for Hot & Sour, I only need go as far as my pantry and kitchen.

taste is acceptable but not the usual taste im used to with the hot and sour soup i know.

Soup is pretty good but it is hard to make a whole packet when it is for one person only. If the packets came in different amounts, it would be very helpful. Taste is close though to the Sun Bird Brand however, you can't find the Sun Bird packets anymore in the stores.
