Get the concept but in reality the reflective surface deteriorates quite quickly leaving you with a floating white object which defeats the object of scaring a heron!

This certainly does what it is supposed to as since the heron spotted it he/she hasn't been back to try and eat my fish! Prior to buying this we had resorted to erecting a 'spiders web' of tape across and around our pond as despite having it netted the heron was here daily trying to work out a way through it and thoroughly scaring the fish.The only reason that I have deducted a star is because after a while it had obviously sprung a leak and started to sink slightly and also list to port (or starboard, depending on wind direction!!). Soon fixed it with some fish safe sealant and it's now back whirling it's merry dance around the pond (well as far as the weight and cord will allow!!)

Only had it three months, the silver has peeled off and it’s listing to one side! Wouldn’t recommend

I bought this only last October, it stayed shiny until 2 months ago where it has gone opaque so absolutely no use at all.

My fish were very inquisitive when I placed this in my pond. They like the reflections it makes. I filled the net with pebbles to anchor it slightly but it still has room to float around. My pond is about three to four feet deep in the middle, but if yours is deeper you could place the anchor on a raised pot or use the side shelf if you have one.

Not as good as I hoped.

Bought two separately - seem to have deterred the heron but they both keep flipping onto their sides which then disturbs the fish :-( Any ideas how to remedy this slight fault please?
