3C Sealants Wood Repair 2-Part Filler 620ml – Long Lasting, Heavy Duty Wood Filler for Durable Repairs & Restoration Projects

Very good product. I have used it to repair some windows that were rotten. I managed to save all the windows which are over 100 years old. Repairing holes is straight forward, but more tricky where I needed to rebuild sections of window frame that had rotted away. Some of the corners were completely gone, no mortise or tenons left. I think these large repairs need Perspex to shutter the area being repaired. I unfortunately didn’t have any so had to build the corners up, shape them and then sand. I didn’t think it was going to work, but came out great. Hardens fairly quickly, however can’t be sanded until next day. Works in a standard silicone gun which is a massive bonus. When doing large repairs it doesn’t go very far, so far I’ve purchased 3 of them. Expensive but cheaper and quicker than having to machine new window frames. Needs the primer, I’ve used one primer set for 3 sets of the epoxy filler.

Excellent product, but expensive - but you do get what you pay for. So much better than traditional fillers for jobs that involve filling large holes without having to worry about it not setting. What I don't understand is they don't come with any nozzles. They include screw on caps that are useful for storing what is left after you have used it, but why are no nozzles included?

I've found most of the more well known two-part tub fillers 'go off' far to quickly for the larger jobs - so when it came to repairing three, long, heavily damaged 80 year old window boards, I'd decided to try this 2-parter from 3C.. WHAT a revelation.. using the ( solid, non essential but nice-to-have ) 'double barrel' gun, equal parts, A & B, are dispensed easily, mix readily & remain pleasantly workable for the duration, minimising waste & costs, all round.. The longer cure time ( bumpf suggests 5-6 hrs & it is still tacky after 2 or 3 hrs ) lends itself to the larger repairs, but with the replaceable caps & air tight tubes, it's no problem to dispense as little or as much as you need.. Workability is outstanding - fill & spread like ( non crunchy ) peanut butter with your favourite blade - a final pass, gives an near paintable finish, with minimal sanding ( the photo is next day, fully cured & unsanded ) Initially, it would seem to be a fairly expensive solution - however, I'd suggest it easily pays for itself in terms of lack of wasted product & time repeatedly knocking up small batches of other well know tinned fillers.. Highly recommended

OK, it is not a cheap product, but using the correct tools and with care, the ability to match complex profiles is almost unmatched. The long open time also allows for matching shapes, profiles and different surfaces without having to make compromises. Could not do without it for so many repairs/restoration jobs. One thing to note is that you do not have to immediately shell out a fortune for supposedly essential application tools. There are plenty of good if not better tools available for far less, and indeed many will already be in your tool box. Don’t for get good quality wipes for cleaning up tools.

I am restoring some original sash windows, this is expensive but it is the best sealant I have used, very easy to mix work with and doesnt go off quick. My advice is that if you have extensive damage to either use wooden block and cut to size andput some sealent in the whole then the wood and then fill over it, alternative you can use the cheaper sealants the one that goes off quick, and then finish with this, this is extremely smooth and nice to mould

Sensibly priced compared to Repair Care, and no trouble to sculpt any complex forms with spatulas. I quite enjoyed working with this product tbh. Hopefully it will prove to be durable and stand the test of time.

Very good product. I use it for professional timber restoration for decorating and it finishes beautifully. Has a very long cure time unlike traditional 2 part wood fillers. The only thing you need to be aware of is it takes about 48 hours before it gets hard enough to sand properly, certainly with an orbital or multi tool sander so for quick repair jobs it may not be ideal but if you have the time then it sands and finishes better the traditional epoxy fillers. Very pleased and will be a go to for me.

This is good for almost all kinds of filler-type wood repairs. It cures very hard and can be sanded and shaped somewhat after curing. It is a reasonable colour for natural wood repairs, but wood is so varied it cannot really blend in to create invisible repairs. Therefore, it is especially useful for wood that will be subsequently painted, e.g., repairs to partly rotten timber window sills that are to be repainted. The resin can be overpainted easily. The product lasts for quite some time as it only hardens when the two parts from the two tubes are mixed together.
