Different reasons for reading
I didn't so much read this book for the "entertainment" of it, or even because I wanted to find out more about the subject or the author. I read it because of my own recent cancer diagnosis. It may not have been quite as "uplifting" as I hoped, but it was brutally honest and left me amazed at what this author went thru in her young life, and survived, and grew stronger in her faith and her optimism. Many good reminders of what a strong faith and a good attitude can help you survive. And even helps to know that sometimes you just have the right to feel a little grumbly. I applaud the author and thank her for sharing her journey with others.

This Book Has No Relationship To The Actress Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls, Parenthood)
As an Amazon reviewer, I read reviews on almost everything I purchase because reviews have been consistently accurate and helpful in my experience. That is why when this book and another book written by Lauren Graham appeared after I purchased the "Gilmore Girls Companion," I was surprised because I had never read that Lauren Graham (the actress) had suffered with cancer when she was 21 years old. I reading the reviews though, there was only one that indicated that "Lauren Graham didn't write the book" which didn't mean that it was not her story necessairily. None of the other reviewers, I read, gave any opinion. So I purchased the book. Not a huge Kindle purchase, but based on the reviews I made the purchase and started reading. It began with Lauren Graham's "mother" talking about how her daughter's condition evolved. I do know that the actress Lauren Graham lost her mother at an early age and was raised by her father. At that point I realized that the book really has nothing to do with the Lauren Graham, most of us think of when we hear the name and I really think that this book should not come up automatically when a purchase is made related to "Gilmore Girls or Parenthood."I wish the young woman, Lauren Graham who is the subject of this book, well, but I really wanted to give clear information to prospective buyers.

Her prognosis for this problem is excellent and I hope she continues to face all the ...
A very clear description of chemotherapeutic treatment of lymphoblastic leukemia from a patient's point of view in an email format. As described, the author was about to turn 21, and her plans did not include putting her life on hold for three years of cancer therapy. I personally met this young lady early on and was very impressed with her positive outlook. As the book reveals, this carried her through the low moments and are times that everybody who undergoes cancer therapy will experience at some point. The book reveals not only the "nitty-gritty" of therapy, but also the author's faith, strong character and positive outlook. Her prognosis for this problem is excellent and I hope she continues to face all the challenges of her life as she did this one.

What a courageous young lady.
Well Lauren..your one negative review actually led me to purchase your book. That being said, I really enjoyed sharing your journey. You are certainly filled with courage and a deeply felt faith! I am so happy to know that you are doing well and I appreciate your courage to share. Maybe you should have written under another name to please your critic...now just how silly does that sound?! Take care sweet girl..

Inspirational book for those dealing with cancer
This is an amazing and inspirational book written by a young woman detailing her experience with life-threatening cancer. Lauren was a 21-year-old college student when she was given this cross to bear and she dealt with it with grace, faith, courage and humor. She details the trials she, her family and friends went through, always in an optimistic and encouraging manner. I recommend this book to anyone whose life is affected by cancer. She writes with humor, faith, encouragement and offers many suggestions on how to treat cancer victims/survivors. This is a very insightful book and recommend it to everyone.

Young college student level
Geared for the college student. Amazon fooled me on this one; I thought it was written by the actress Lauren Graham since Amazon brought this up after the actress' book. Having said that, this book is a collection of status update emails written during a very grueling battle against cancer.

Why
This is about a Christian girl and this is like a journal she wrote about her cancer treatment as she went through it.
