This power-monitoring-only version only saves you 30¢ versus the Shelly that does power monitoring AND switching, so the number of use-cases for this device is pretty small. The reports and information in the app is the same for both versions. That said, it does work very well. You MUST be aware of the type of outlet box you have in your wall as some homes use metal boxes for their outlets, which will greatly reduce (or block) the WiFi signal this needs to work. There's not much to look at with this, as it's meant to be small enough to install inside the wall. The most important aspect are the reports and status screens available in the app OR in your HomeAssistant dashboard. As you can see from my screenshots, you can view the current voltage and amperage in use and you can also view comparison graphs (by day, week, month or even year! This one is wired-in to the outlet for my chest-freezer. You can see that in the last 30 days it has used 32.11 kWh of electricity (or about $5.78).

Great product, integrates with home assistant very easily. Easy to use on the shelly app if you like. I prefer to keep all my iot local and not use apps that send your info to wherever.

It is working very well. I am using it with Home Assistant but also works with the app on the phone. The first one went into the chicken house so I can see if the heat lamps were working. Sometimes they burn out. The second one watches the power for the garage fridge and the garage freezer. Through Home Assistant, I will get a notification if one unit does not pull power for 12 hours.

I can’t believer how tiny this is! I’m using it to measure wattage of three outdoor flood lights, so that I can tell if one light stopped working over night. It works great for this purpose. I also use another one to watch power use by my washer, and I get a message on my phone (using this with Home Assistant) to let me know when the wash has finished. I recommend this Shelly PM mini!

I bought that item to monitor my heating circulator pump. That item was a test but I would had needed 5 for my system. I have a board with 5 output for the 5 pumps, They are all connected to the same breaker but it's the board that split the feed to the output. I don't have access to before their contact. All that to say that the picture is misleading, it looks like there are 4 connection 2 for the 120 supply and 2 "O" to connect the monitored wire. But there are only 3. You need to constant power the item before any switch or relay otherwise you will loose the communication before it can tell you that the watts are at zero now. (in my setup I have 120 v only when the pump call for heating) I made a drawing that explain better I will find some other use but I was disappointed about it. Easy connection, very small, good terminal board.

Installed into my camper and pellet to monitor watts used. Very easy to install. Use Internet to keep track.

I love the Shelly brand because the devices are open and can work without cloud, which is how I have it -- connected to Home Assistant. Full functionality including firmware upgrades are supported. In this case I wanted to monitor a laundry machine so I could send alerts to my phone and/or smart displays when laundry is done. I wanted a better look than a smart outlet, and I knew I didn't want control (only monitoring) so the outlet is always powered, so I got this so I could put it into the outlet box, and it worked great.

Just a week installed and it's working great tracking power to my furnace! I did opt to install it into an external plastic housing since installing it in the furnace electrical box would have shielded it with two very thick steel walls and I didn't think the WiFi signal would get out. Just keep that in mind when installing; WiFi doesn't like penetrating steel walls, steel ducting, and especially chicken wire!

Ideaal apparaatje. Ik heb hem aangesloten op de voeding van de caravan en kan precies bijhouden hoeveel ik in totaal verbruik en hoeveel watt ik op het moment gebruik.

I'm sure these are good quality, but the way these products are named is very confusing. I had to return them. Just be aware of the power ratings and functions before purchasing. I have since purchased the correct one, but am still waiting for it to arrive.
