Having two speed aeration is a really nice feature. There are times when battery preservation is important for long fishing outings. The tubing seems adequately long (don't have the minnow bucket available to test it right now). The only difficulty I had with the unit was in closing the back after inserting the single D battery. There seems to be a slight design flaw in that the top corners have protrusions which a) hold the cover on tightly, but also b) get in the way when trying to re-seat the cover. I deducted a star for this because, when running the minnow bucket around the clock, frequent battery changes are required (the listing claims a 30 hour run time on a single battery). It's a bit of a pain to have to wrestle with the cover each and every time.

I really like the large size of the air bubble stone on this Beyond Bait Pump; it's larger than all the other stones on aerators I've owned which makes it heavier and helps it to stay on the bottom of my bucket. It also puts out a nice amount of bubbles, which helps keep my bait active for longer. Another thing I like is it has 2 speeds. I've never had an aerator with multiple speeds so it's a nice option to be able to choose my setting when I have more or less bait in my bucket or if my battery is running low. The concept of the plastic packaging it shipped in acting as a waterproof housing is a stretch because that plastic will probably crack or break pretty quickly, but it also has a built in water resistant seal to help keeps water out of the motor which is really more important anyways. One thing I found odd was the unit I received had a smudge on it that made me wonder if it had been used, but the rest of it was pristine so I do think it was a new unit.

This is a nice addition to the fishing equipment! This has a nice large clip that fits the bucket well. Upon testing, it offers good aeration, and is really easy to use. It has a nice design. It is a bit difficult to close back up after putting in the battery...here are a couple tips: DO NOT pull the back screw out all the way...there are two tiny gaskets on that screw, a little black one that goes on the inside, and a clear one that is on the outside, but is difficult to see. So it's best to not remove the screw so that they stay in place...just unscrew it from the main body, but don't pull it out of the back battery cover itself. Second, when closing it after replacing the battery,start by getting the upper right corner (back facing you and screw towrd the bottom)inserted well...the clip in the upper left and press down...my did not close smoothly, but I did get it closed after playing arou d with it a little.
