Pairing is difficult, loses contact with hub ALL THE TIME
I've installed the Leaksmart system in 2 homes. When this system works, its great. Does what it says on the tin. Some sensors pair up in seconds. Others you have to sit there and redo the pairing process 1000 times.Biggest complaints (and these happen in both houses - two separate systems):1. The hub goes offline for no reason. Hub 3.0 wireless in both houses. I'll get an alert out of nowhere stating that the Hub cant be reached. Every other internet connected device in the house is fine, so its not the network. Usually if you wait 2-4 hours, it will come back online by itself.1a. If you try and unplug the hub or reboot it, often it loses its configuration completely and you have to set it all up all over again. This has happened to me at least once in each house.2. Randomly, sensors go offline for no reason. Again, if you wait, sometimes this problem fixes itself - and the sensor comes back online with no intervention.2a. Sometimes, ALL of them go offline and you have to go around and re-pair each sensor to the hub. This is not a battery issue on the sensors, its a defect in the product. If you're installing this in your primary residence these are annoying problems, but you can generally fix them yourself. If you are installing this in a home thats 500 miles away, I'd find a different solution that's a bit more stable and does not require physical intervention to fix issues that shouldnt be happening in the first place.

Finally a great flood prtection system!
I have been waiting for a product like this for along time and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of all the components. The install was very easy and straight forward with simple to follow instructions. I am a plumber by trade so I have to admit the valve install may be more than some customers are comfortable with but most residential applications will be no problem . Setting up the sensors and reciever was no problem at all and I usually struggle with pairing other devices like wifi lights and such. The leaksmart app is easy to navigate and manage devices. I ordered 2 extra sensors and they were expensive, but the quality justifys the price. I love the peace of mind knowing my home is safe from floods. I have 5 sensors total now. The temp alert feature was an extra unexpected bonus. Its been installed for a few months now and all the sensors are reporting full battery still. I am very impressed so far. Great product that I will definetly recomend to my customers.

Smart installation
Let me tell you about the dislike first. I am using Samsung Smartthings (Android phone) for installation and automation. There is virtually no documentation on how to install using Smartthings. Before you install, you have to add Samsung Smartthings Home Monitor app inside Smartthings (again, no documentation). If you have already installed leakSmart using some other method, you will have to do a factory reset. Ask leakSmart how to do that. I have six leakSmarts installed in our home. The audible alarm that the leakSmart puts out is not easily heard. I created an "Automation" that sends me a text message telling which sink has sprung a leak. I don't have to hear it. I will see a message on my phone. Would I buy this unit again. Absolutely Yes.

Reliable, Pairs with Wink nicely, battery life maybe a bit short
Have about 8 of these, in 2 houses; they detect water reliably. The batteries are three AAA's and seem to wind down maybe a little quickly, say 6 months. They are sturdy. Less flimsy than Dome, but Dome has coil extension and maybe a longer life CR2 battery. Some range issues but better than Dome for range. I THINK I have Gen 2 Leaksmart - not sure!... and Gen 2 better battery life than Gen 1. Only real quibble is they are expensive. All soon to be paired via Wink with a Dome waterman valve turn-off. Chose that over Leaksmart's simply due to Amazon reviews.

Dependable Water and Temperature Sensing
I've been using these sensors for a few years. I think they work great as long as you ensure the battery is not dead. In my last house I also had the Leaksmart Valve. I don't have one yet in my new house. Right now I have three. They are located by my water heater, dish washer, and washing machine. Since I don't have the valve, I setup some notifications in Wink. Any sensor that detects water will turn all my RGBW smart bulbs on with the color red and sent me text messages. It works great. I do recommend testing the sensor monthly with water, or just connect the contacts with a paper clip.

LeakSmart sensors. I would NOT buy them again!
I have run into what seems to be multiple quality control issues. Sensor V 3, SensXtend , and rope leak sensors, Defective products right out of the box. One new Sensor V3 only reports the temp every ~36 hours and then the application/hub reports communication errors after a long time out period. Two sensor keeps sending out Temp out of range messages even though the temperature it is reporting is within the "low/high" Window.Three Sensor V3 report Mac address errors when attempting to pair.Technical customer service seems to be overwhelmed, BUT "Vee" is a big help when/if they get back to you (Usually they do not). One sensor reported low battery and the hub locked up, I had to power fail the hub.I have eight sensors, three SensXtender's and the Version 3 hub.

This Does Not Work with NEST without a HUB
Okay, I know that the description says Hub Required, but since it said, "SMART HOME COMPATIBLE - Works as a standalone audio and visual alarm, or over WiFi with Nest,", I thought it would work with my nest app without a Hub. That's what I get for thinking. Also, I also have the Lyric WI-FI water leak detector, and in my opinion it is superior to the Leaksmart. The Leaksmart is very flimsy plastic, and the screw on the back is hard to screw in after replacing batteries. The Lyric, on the other hand, feels solid, and has a rubber backing that forms a nice seal. It also works, as I've had two water leaks in my basement that it alerted me to.

Great support
Had an issue with one of the detectors not communicating with Wink hub. I contacted the seller and they ran through some troubleshooting with me and after we could not get the sensor to connect properly, sent a new sensor. Very satisfied and would buy again!

Easy to set up, but.....
....the range is not great at all. Doesn't pick up wifi signal outside of 50ft.

Saying it “works with Nest” is misleading
Did not work as I expected. Says it “works with Nest” but I still needed a Leaksmart hub so I don’t consider that working with Nest which I already have a hub for.
