I am giving this 2 starts because everything was great up until 2 days ago
I am giving this 2 starts because everything was great up until 2 days ago. I have had this charging case for a little over a month and everything was great. I didn't have to charge my phone at all during the day. And I still don't, but 2 days ago the button on the side of my galaxy s4 caved in on the case and the back corner won't stay in....Q

This case has problems
This case does one thing very well: extend my battery life.Apart from that I would not purchase this battery case.1) The case comes in two pieces: a back that holds the battery, and a piece that goes on over the front but serves two purposes: to snap to the back and hold the case in place, and to provide pushable places to operate the phone's power and volume buttons. That second part has serious problems. After only a few week's use, the part that activate's the phone's power button broke off. I called the manufacturer and they sold me a replacement, which lasted a few weeks and then had the same problem. Ultimately I end up having to2) The case simply does not stay very well on the phone. I find myself constantly prodding and pushing to get the pieces to snap securely into place. And then repeating this process several times throughout the day.3) The "inair" charger portion works incredibly poorly. It relies on two metal probes that stick out of the back of the case to make contact with the metal surfaces of the charging pad. The probes don't stick out far enough to ensure contact is made. After a few days of trying to figure this out, I gave up on trying to use this feature. The only reason that this gets 2 stars is because the battery life is quite usefully extended. I easily get to the end of the day without having to worry about charging. But apart from that I am not a fan of this case.

Samsung S4 Super cool concept, Case falls short of expectations.
First off I believe in full disclosure and complete honesty when writing reviews, something I wish everyone on Amazon took a bit more seriously.I have a simple rating system.3 stars = Meets expectations4 or 5 stars = exceeds expectations1 or 2 stars fails to meet basic expectations (needs more development or better quality control)I received this product as a “reviewer sample” so it was given to me for the sole purpose of writing a review. I will start by saying I have very mixed feelings about this product. I guess I was not sure what to expect besides a case with a built in battery and external wireless charger. The system is comprised of the following components. A. 2 piece plastic case. The back rests on the phone and then is held in place by a trim ring that goes around the outer edge of the phone.B. Battery holder/ extender (features an extra battery built in)C. Wireless charging padD. Micro USB charging cablePhone InstallationPretty simple installation process. Use your fingernail to pry off the back of your phone. Remove the OEM battery and install it into the aftermarket battery/ holder. Install the battery holder into the battery socket. I found this slightly difficult as mine required a small amount of “cramming” to get it in place. The case is two parts separate them, then lay your phone into the back of the case (there are two tabs that click into the phone itself. Then snap the trim ring on (from the front) to hold the case together.First Impressions.Overall this is a very good concept. A hard shell protective case, a battery booster and a wireless charging system. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed in the case quality. It reminds me of the cheap stuff you would buy from one of those mall kiosks. My issue with this type of product is it truly offers only minimum protection when you drop your phone.Lets look at the componentsBattery boosterThis is one of the products strongest points. Simply it doubles your battery life. (Usually I have to put my phone on the charger somewhere along the day in order to get a full days use out of the phone). By piggy backing an extra battery you are able to get more done and not worry about running out of power.External Wireless charger.Nice simple unit made from aluminum and about the same size as your phone. Has protective rubber feet to sit on your desk and plugs into your external charger via a micro USB cable (cable is supplied). (Requires an external charger, not supplied)CaseUnfortunately for me, this is what I least liked about the product. Phones are not cheap and if you expect your phone to last you more than a year a high quality case is a necessity. I always choose a 2 part case that feature a hard plastic shell along with a soft rubber liner that attaches to the outside of the plastic. A combination of plastic and rubber ensures that if the phone falls it will be protected and most importantly the rubber surround will prevent the phone or case from popping open and ejecting your phone when it hits the ground.I used the case and battery extender on my phone for 2 days and then had my wife use it on her S4 for three days here is what she said about the case ”I feel nervous because the case is slippery and when I push a button it creaks and the edges pop open”.On 8-31 My son dropped my wife's phone and what I expected to happen actually occurred. The phone hit the ground the case popped open and there lay 4 pieces on the kitchen floor. And that, is the issue! The case is the “glue or binder” that makes the package work or not work! Each of us makes a decision as to what level of protection our phones need. I know that in my active life I need to know that when I drop my phone it's not going to break. So if the case sucks, Where does that leave us? Can you use the battery and charger without the case? NOPE! Can you at least use the battery? NOPE! Can you use the wireless charging? NOPE! So your options are very limited.A. You deal with a low quality, low protection case to get some extra battery life and wireless charging.B. You go without and protect your phone with decent case..You of course will have to make your own decision. Personally for me the case is not going to work with my job and what my phone goes through. My wife on the other hand is much more careful with her phone and she is thrilled with the extended battery life. The breakdownSo where does that leave us?Cool factor 5 starsBattery boost 5 starsCase quality 1 starcase performance 1 starProduct usefulness without case 0 starsOverall I have to say 3 stars. A super cool concept that falls short only because of the case.In all fairness If you are one of the folks who buy those decorative snap on cases, you may find the protection adequate. What I look for in a case is protection not aesthetics.

Excellent battery life, with a protection tradeoff
This is a great extended battery and case combination. The case looks and feels good and the larger capacity battery makes it so that you don't have to worry about having your phone die in the middle of the day.The build quality is really nice. It feels good to the touch and it is nice to hold. It is not too big that you can't comfortably hold it. I didn't like how tight the fit was in my front jeans pockets so I found myself putting it in my back pocket more often than not.Just like a normal battery, longevity is heavily swayed by your usage patterns. I was able to get about 22 hours of HEAVY use out of it. Using GPS, keeping the screen on, and constantly downloading things from the internet. With more moderate use I found that I was able to get two to two and a half days on a single charge. And when I rarely used my phone I was able to get around three to three and a half days of battery. You will have to consider the cons when purchasing this case. The worst thing for me about this case was that it isn't really protective at all. The case is more for holding the bigger battery.Losing the IP67 (waterproof) rating wasn't a big deal for me but that may be important to someone else looking for an extended battery. You have to remove the original back cover in order to use this extended battery and case so you lose the rubber gasket that helps make the phone IP67 dust and water resistant. And again losing the ability to use the heart rate sensor was not a big deal to me because I never really use it. But for those of you that use it regularly it is something that you will have to consider. The added weight and added thickness weren't a big deal to me as well. But for those that have smaller pockets this battery/case may not be very easy to get in and out of those pockets.Pros:[+] Excellent battery life[+] The phone feels good in hand in this caseCons:[-] You will lose your IP67 waterproof rating[-] Not very protective (though not meant to be)[-] It is near impossible to use the heart rate sensor on the backProduct sample provided by LifeCharge.
