I used B&L's AREDS2 for many years but found them getting a little pricey. I consulted with my doctor and he said any good generic with ample lutein would be just as good for my eyes. I found Swanson Synergistic Eye Health on Amazon and the price was significantly lower than AREDs2 and with a higher amount of lutein. And only one capsule a day, instead of the 2 Caps a day with AREDS. It was a no-brainer. I went with the less expensive generic and with my doctor's full approval

I do appreciate that it does have both powerful ingredients, made my eyes feel somewhat better. I need a higher dose. Well worth the money!
