Dance Like No One's Watching! 💃
The Capezio Women's 176 Contempora Pointe Shoe is crafted from 100% satin with a leather sole, designed to run 3 sizes larger than street shoe sizes. It features a broad feathered box and wings for enhanced support, a U-throat for a sleek look, a slightly tapered design, and a #2 shank for optimal performance.

Pointe shoe is exactly as described.
Every dancer breaks her/his own shoes to their own preferences, making it difficult to tell someone else what to expect. Capezio is a decent brand and this is a decent practice shoe. You need your own toe pads and silks. Again, as dancers have their own preferences you need to choose your own anyway.

Nice Pointe shoes
They arrived early! Very nice Unfortunately they weren’t the right model for me … but that’s on me. I recommend

Fit me well, died quickly
I like these shoes a lot-- I ordered them on a whim (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BEING PROFESSIONALLY FITTED) after my first two fittings went poorly. I did a lot of research on foot types, and these fit my feet very well. The main issue I have with them, is that Capezio doesn't offer different shank strengths. This shoe comes standard with a #2 shank, which is too weak for me. I have very strong feet and high arches, and the first time I practiced in these I could already tell that the shoes would die after only a practice or two.I had to jet glue the heck out of them immediately, or they would have lasted 2 classes. After I jet glued them, they lasted me about 2 months before I had to break down and buy another pair. I ended up with a different brand/model this time.My other main concern is that the box died quickly. It felt like my big toes were digging a hole in the box, which was uncomfortable. After 5-6 classes, I no longer trusted my left shoe.

Contempora 8.5 C
I haven't worn Contemporas for years, but I thought I'd try a pair when I saw the price. Unfortunately, they run a little narrower than I remember and I had to send the C width shoes back. Some sizing feedback for those who don't live a dancewear store stocking this shoe in your size: the shoe length was true to sizing guidelines (subtract 2.5 from your street shoe size) - I wear a women's 11 and size 8.5 pointes were the correct length. If you wear a medium width but larger shoe size, I would recommend trying the D width instead of the C width.

The best pointe shoe I have tried
I have difficult feet to fit. I have a high arch and my feet are rather wide and tapered (longer big toe). I have tried quite many shoes from different makers. I eventually came across Capezio and tried Tendu II. While the width was excellent, the shoe was a bit too wide for my toes so they tended to slide down in the box so I had to use special padding to solve that. I was adviced to try Capezio Contempora and it is the best shoe I have tried for my feet and has significantly reduced the need for additional padding. Now I just need Ouch Pouch pro and a thin gel disc for the tip of my big toe. I love it and will continue to use it.

love capezio but...
I tried this exact style and exact size on in a fitting at a store, and the shoe was perfect. I ordered it online to save $30 or so. Upon getting them though, my toes ever so slightly buckled when putting them in. they are still wearable, but certainly not what I expected.

It seems nice for my tapered toes
It seems nice for my tapered toes, but size 9 was too small. I am size 10 or bigger for street shoes. Hope they have bigger size.
