Spectacular and Jaw Dropping!
This is my second Samsung 4K TV. The first one was a 2016 model that had some visible flaws in the screen and a great picture. I knew that 4K had to be even better than what the 2016 model was putting out, even with a Samsung 4K Bluray Player I was underwhelmed slightly, everyone else was glued to the TV. Introducing the 2018 Samsung QN55Q7FN FLAT 55” QLED 4K UHD 7 Series Smart TV at a whopping $2500.00...No thank you! I waited and watched and waited and watched the price drop meanwhile I compared the new 2019 Samsungs, was not impressed! The price finally dropped to a $1000 and I jumped on it why? Let me tell you! No gap wall mount! My friends are blown away by how it sits flush with the wall! One connect invisible connect! Where are all the cords my friends ask? I show them the fiber optic line and they still refuse to believe that the power and all my other goodies run through that line. Ambient Mode! My TV blends into the wall as if it is not there! My friends went to the tv slid their hand behind the TV and said why can't I see my hand, I can see the wall and they were in disbelief! Stunning 4K Clarity the likes I have never seen in a big box store or on my wall before! The Apollo 11 (2019) movie on bluray (not 4K) was the first movie I played for my friends on the TV and they were astonished, gobsmacked and awed by the supreme quality of the movie not wanting to take their eyes off the screen! The colors pop like no other TV the size of the TV at 55" and mounted on the wall is like having your own poor mans theatre! add to it the Samsung sound bar and woofer and BOOM! Ease of use! This TV is made so a child can operate it, I think that Samsung took a bunch of ques from Apple and knocked it out of the park! The UI is easy, fast and informative, you simply select what you want displayed on the search bar and you go there. There are informative suggestions for movies and apps that I think add to the exploration of the TV and not as a commenter said "garbage bloatware" If you don't want so called ads don't buy this tv, they are here but not so much I think of ads but whats on TV and movies or different apps to make your life and TV more enjoyable. I 100% purchased the 4 year extended warranty to protect my purchase, its a no brainer! 5 years total with the one year manufacturer warranty and I think that at this quality and to be honest with you stylishly hot! TV! breaking it down for you penny pinchers (me too) it comes out to $1.64 a day over the next 5 years for spectacular enjoyment! This is a new way for me to justify spending my hard earned money! Protect your investment, don't get burned! Get the no gap wall mount and be sure to use the level on the part that the TV hangs from not on the mount itself, I found that mine wasn't level, but when I adjusted for where the TV hangs it came out perfectly level. The freedom of being able to place the one connect box anywhere in my room is truly liberating. This TV is art! From the Moment I peeled off the heavy duty protective layering on the screen I bubbled inside with joy and excitement and was not disappointed! Check out my not so 4K video of the ambient mode "water" the sounds are accompany the "water" effect and can be turned down, up, off, etc... Enjoy!

Quality! Vivid colors, amazing depths & the metal casing is classy and sleek
One of the first things that attracted me to this tv was “QLED”. I’ve heard of it but not being overly tech savvy I didn’t know all that much about it. Read some of the good and some of the bad comments/reviews only to realize like most things you have to just try it for yourself to really know. My finding: IT’S WORTH IT!!! The picture really is crisp, clear and bright. Of course quality may vary depending on your setup at home (dish, cable, if you pay for hd, etc) BUT, I cannot say much negative about this tv. Seeing it’s a 2018 model slightly scared me but it doesn’t come up in conversation (who would ever know when it’s on your wall) and anyone that has Seen mine was just impressed overall by its design. Besides the great picture, the physical appearance is what first caught my eye. The sleek metal body and stand actually looks classy and sophisticated. It doesn’t look like just any other tv out there. I knew I would need to use the stand and not wall mount this tv so having a sturdy, good looking stand was a priority in my purchase. The rod is solid metal and has a nice sheen brushed nickel look. Samsung is also a brand I’ve owned before and seem to trust. They know what they’re doing. They build quality, this tv is no exception it looks and acts like a very expensive television. The only feature I wasn’t overly impressed with is the ambient mode. It does blend in relatively well but of course it’s not perfect. I guess I just don’t understand why you wouldn’t just shut the tv off when not in use. I know the idea is to set a mood or add design to your room but not a feature I had to have. Guess it is nice to know I could always use it, it is there... As I’ve said, you can read reviews over and over until the cows come home and still be just as confused as before you started. I have ZERO regrets after owning this tv. I’ve had it just under 2 months now and have nothing to say bad about it.

Bad Move Samsung
I've always been a fan of and own a number of Samsung products including several tvs. I decided to upgrade my tv and bought the SamsungQN65Q7FN. It was delivered today and I spent 2hrs getting it wall mounted only to find out the TV doesn't even turn on. This new series of Samsung TV requires you to use the OneConnect box. There is no separate AC cord for the TV. In a world of smart TVs and wireless streaming, Samsung why have you added a heavy box that has to sit on a shelf and uses a pencil thin cord to power the TV that you can't bend, squeeze or even have less than a 4" loop??? All I need is a smart TV, wall mounted and plugged into a wall...I don't need to add peripherals so why am I required to have an extra component just to operate the TV? And with my TV not turning on, now the problem could be the box, the AC cord, the one connect cord or the TV, there's no way for me to know for sure. I called Samsung and they told me my choice was to take the tv back off the wall, box everything up and return it to Amazon for a replacement or have a technician come out to identify and repair whatever the issue is. If the OneConnect box was an optional component as it should be, I would have a working TV now. Instead I have to wait 2 days for a technician to call and schedule and appoint then wait however many days after that, just so someone else can make a determination what component isn't working and needs to be replaced. Bad move on requiring the OneConnect box in order to use the TV Samsung...very bad move. 1/21/2019 Update: The TV was repaired and worked fine for another 5 months. Then I started have the problem when I turned it on where it would say the box and tv weren't connected, then it started turning itself on randomly, then it just stopped working again. Another call to Samsung and another repair ticket. The box was replaced, the cable was replaced and the motherboard inside the tv was replaced. It worked for 2hr and died again. I called Samsung and demanded a replacement. Now I'm fighting with Samsung because they will only offer me a cheaper tv and only warranty it for the remaining 4 months of the original warranty on my non-functioning new tv. Samsung has said that if I want a different TV I have to pay an $800 upgrade fee and if I want a different warranty then I have to pay for an extended warranty. So how exactly does Samsung value their customers? Not at all.

very impressed with this TV and the One Connect box can be a big benefit depending on your setup.
This TV is flatly amazing for the price (see what I did there?). The picture is amazing and because of the One Connect box, the TV mounts very flat to the wall (using the Samsung No Gap wall mount). The One Connect "cord" is lengthy, I would say about 8 feet long. I didn't measure it before I installed the TV, but I was pleasantly surprised at how long it was as that was a concern of mine. The One Connect box is what allows the TV to be so thin - the power supply and all the myriad connectors are all on the box instead of the TV. I was surprised at how large the One Connect box was, but since I have a cabinet near the TV the size didn't matter much. The TV sound is described as being "surround sound" and to my non-audiophile ears it sounds amazing. I thought I would need to add a sound bar but I do not. The remote is the best one I've used and it has universal remote capability, although I didn't need it since coincidentally my DVD player is also Samsung. So, the remote automatically controlled the DVD player as well. One of my concerns was how the TV would perform when it was not connected to the internet. It was easy to skip the wireless setup and aside from the obvious - can't use the apps - the only surprise here was that "Ambient Mode" will not function without an internet connection. The setup was very easy and the TV auto-detected all three devices connected to the HDMI ports (Chromecast, DVD player, PC). We bought the Samsung No Gap wall mount that is specifically made for this family of TVs and I feel the mount is worth the trouble once you get it hung.

Pros and Cons of Samsung Q7 QLED TV
Let me start by saying I love this television. I purchased it to replace a Samsung 65" SUHD that began having screen issues after 3 years (not happy about that). This TV is a theatrical wonder in regards to screen size and quality. Is it the best picture you can buy? No. But if I would never have seen some of the higher end OLEDS, I might think it was. The colors are vibrant, the blacks are extremely black. Out of the box, without calibration, the TV is amazing. Pros: Picture size. Picture quality Sound is amazing--didn't even hook up my old sound bar. Smart features--didn't even hook up my Amazon fire cube. Single, almost invisible, connection to a breakout box. No power cables, no HDMI cables going to the TV. Cons: The only real issue I have is with the Smart Things integration. You need to use your phone and the Smart Things app to basically manage the ambient mode feature--which is one of the reasons I bought the TV. There is a feature on the TV that allows you to take a picture of the wall and then use the ambient mode to basically make the TV disappear into the wall when not in use. You need to use the Smart Things app to do this, but the option doesn't appear to be on the app based on the instructions on the TV screen. Maybe I just need to delete the app and make sure I have the very latest version. So, yes, I love the TV and can highly recommend it.

Really nice TV
This TV was for my mom. I myself am a satisfied LG OLED55E8PUA owner and wanted my mother to purchase a B8 OLED. However, I also presented this TV to my mother since it was at the time, the cheapest TV to get an Excellent (80+ points) rating by Consumer Reports. My mother liked the design a lot and thought it would look better in the family room than the B8. So I purchased this for mom. Even without calibration, I thought the picture was really nice. Very vivid even in standard mode (refreshing), albeit sometimes oversaturated as QLEDs are sometimes known to produce. Blacks are not as good as OLEDs but really good nonetheless. This QLED has some trouble "winging it" when presenting pictures from subpar sources; flesh tones and people look like a 2000 era CGI/game rendering. Our previous Pioneer plasma and my current LG OLED give a lot better picture when the sources are subpar. Sometimes, I also see two or three sharp images overlayed slightly offset from one another when the TV takes in subpar static sources that I wouldn't get with the plasma or OLED. There was also an instance where the system crashed and I needed to turn off the TV for several minutes and turn on to restore function/picture. Still, this QLED should be better for my mom's needs in the generally bright ambiance this TV sits in than an OLED. And when I view the highest quality UHD content from Vudu, I can't ask for anything more considering the nice price. A Q8/Q9 should be the TV to look at if you want the best of LED and OLED combined in one. I was surprised by the standard system's sound despite lacking Dolby Atmos. It has a surprisingly full range sound, with ample bass and good detail for most needs. My E8 LG, by contrast sounds closed in and has a very annoying buzz from the internal assembly in scenes with lot of low frequencies. This remote is very clean and sleek with quality switchgear from a camera, compared to my LG's busy magic remote. For me, who values "less is more," I was pleasantly surprised with the app list, that included DirecTV Now Beta and HBO, that are not possible with the LG. That means no need for Apple TV 4K or Roku as I need in my LG. I also like the remote box where you can run connections to instead of having to connect to the TV. This also supports a much cleaner appearance around the TV. IN SUMMARY: the high points are the design from TV to remote, features that support a clean install, nice apps list for me, vivid picture for bright room situations, gorgeous picture for the money when the sources are quality, full range standard speaker sound. Low points are picture quality when sources are subpar.

Great TV
This is the second Samsung smart TV I've purchased. I upgraded the TV in our family room about a year ago and was pleased with the functionality of the samsung. So i decided to go back to Samsung for our new basement TV and this one is perfect! Overall, great tv. Very easy to set up. Works seamlessly with my AppleTV and sonos soundbar. Picture quality is great. I gave this 5 stars and I would happily order this TV again. Only two minor (tiny) complaints I feel I should share: 1) Sometimes there is some "blockiness" in dark/black imaging on the screen. This doesn't happen all the time, and it's not really a big deal (for me). It's definitely not to the point where I would return the TV. I have to stress...this is pretty minor. However someone who REALLY cares about the definition and imagery might be more put off. 2) The TV leans slightly. I can't get it level! I tried tightening the screws in the back where the stand connects to the TV...but it still leans. In the end I found a low-tech workaround: stacking some decorative books on one side to even it out. (It looks fine as I have a bunch of books in the console all around the TV). But this would be a much bigger issue were it not for that solution. I should note - neither of these two issues affects my other Samsung TV. So i don't think it's a general "samsung TV" problem. These flaws are either particular to this model, or even more specific to just my TV.

Great 65" 4K delisciousness for a bright room.
I can see what the OLED snobs mean when they drool over their black-as-sin blacks, because I happened to be sitting in a pitch black room during setup. But this minor complaint against LEDs is unnoticeable in regular use so far. In fact I can't find much to complain about with this TV. It's just spectacular. The one-wire concept is awesome. The brightness and color are amazing. The 4K detail is just jaw-dropping. I four-starred the smart features because frankly I like my appliances to spend less time trying to run my life. But DANG!!...look at that picture! Follow-up, 5 months in; still awesome. It says something that I still sit down in front of the TV and comment on how incredible it is. There are a lot of negative comments on this product, but they seem to boil down into two camps; defective TVs and customers that enjoy complaining. For the former, they have my sympathy. This is a big TV and I pray I never have to deal with shipping or returning it for repairs, because it won't be easy, so I truly feel for those that have had to. On the other hand, mine has behaved very well, and was worth every penny and more. Don't let anybody tell you the performance of this unit is not up to snuff, because it certainly is. The interface is a little clunky, but the simple remote is a refreshing reduction of buttons in my life. The bloatware some have complained about is not intrusive, despite their outrage. So the bottom line remains - awesome!
