Small, dependable swivels that do their job
I’ve been using these Mighty Mini Crane Swivels for a while now, and they’ve performed exactly as I expected. The size is right where I want it for lighter setups without adding unnecessary bulk. After regular use and exposure to water, I haven’t seen any signs of corrosion, which is a big plus. The swivels rotate smoothly and don’t bind up, even after extended time on the line. They’re simple, well-made, and reliable, which is all I’m really looking for in terminal tackle. I’ve been comfortable continuing to use them without giving them much thought, which says a lot. . What you may care about: • Compact size for lighter tackle (Meets) • Smooth swivel action during use (Meets) • Resistance to corrosion over time (Meets) • Overall reliability on the water (Meets)

Amazing strength for their size
These snap swivels have amazing strength for their size. Their secret, that's not so secret, is that they are 100% stainless steel. The stainless steel bodies on these instead of brass bodies like on other "stainless steel" swivels is what lets them be so strong and yet so small. As an engineer who deals with different types of materials regularly, I was somewhat baffled as to why most stainless steel swivels had such a low breaking strength rating. As I researched and found that most of them use brass bodies, I guessed that there may be some ultra premium swivels out there from manufacturers who had built the tooling to deal with the more difficult forming of stainless and were likely charging 10x the price or more for their products. I am often using stealthy presentations where smaller hardware is a definite advantage, so I was entirely willing to spend a lot if I could find snap swivels made of 100% stainless so they could be both strong and small. I found the products that I was looking for from AFW and they aren't much more expensive than the run-of-the-mill swivels that claim to be stainless but are partially brass so they have to be larger and weaker. These swivels are absolutely outstanding. Being a skeptical engineer, I did test the strength on a couple of each size. Every single one was at least as strong as their rating. They are so strong that my challenge in testing was trying to fit something through the tiny eyes on the swivels that would be strong enough to not break before the swivels broke. I am sure that there's a very slight risk of the line being tied to these swivels breaking a tiny bit sooner due to being tied around smaller wire on these swivels than on other, larger swivels with similar or lower breakage ratings. That's physics within the line material, though, not a fault with these swivels. If that concerns you, just use a bigger size. For whatever physical size you choose, these swivels will be stronger than any others. My only possible complaint would be that the wire used here is so strong that it's more difficult to get the snap opened and then closed again compared to other snap swivels of the same size. I have relatively large hands, so this can be a challenge for the smallest sizes of these. Small needle nose fishing pliers exist for a reason, though, and I'll gladly use them in return for having a product that's smaller and stronger. With over 30 years of engineering experience and over 40 years of fishing, I can say it's rare to find a product that is just superior to others for nearly any use case. This is one of those products. Unless you absolutely must have a chrome finish, there's no reason to use snap swivels other than these.

It works
These swivels are super strong and have not fail me in any way. I have lost some fish because I paid less for other brands. It cost more but they worth every penny. The only thing that I wish there is a easier way to open and close the swivel when it is cold outside.

very good and strong - REALLY SMALL for class rating!!!
These appear to be well made and strong- i tied it off and pulled it as hard as I could and it didn't break so I would safely assume they are rated to proper class. The size is VERY small for the class- they appear to be at least 30% smaller than my other Tsunami swivel clips at same class (88lbs actually) - Kind of un-nerving as they look like 30 lbs class swivel clips, perhaps smaller. I paid 5 bucks recently for a 8 pack of the previously mentioned 88lbs class so this is an absolute bargain. I bagged a few up to give to my buddies as an inexpensive gift seeing as ho w I have a BIG bag of little clips. For what it's worth- they couldnt believe these are 70lbs swivels! they are very small and knowing what I know now i would have gone to larger class just to make it easier to open and close while pitching around in 3-4 seas changing lures! for freshwater these are probably awesome at this size. Us saltwater guys may wish to consider heavier/larger of same brand- these are just a tad to small IMHO for the conditions we see , even at 30 lb mono trolling.

Well Made, High Tensile Strength
I bought the #14 swivels. They are very small, but strong. American Fishing Wire rates them at 74 lbs, which is way more than I will need for Bass fishing!

Strength compacted.
Don't let the diminutive size discourage you from trying these, they are strong. The #7 I ordered, have handled musky up to 44" and rotated freely under load. As noted by another reviewer, they're tiny, but swivels come in standard sizing, so you know how big they are when you buy them. If you need a larger swivel, buy a numerically lower size until you get to 1/0, then they go numerically higher. Eg.#7 is smaller than #5 however #2/0 is small than #3/0, the same progression that applies to a fish hook.
