Outstanding throwline tool!
Outstanding throw-line tool. For tree-work, I recommend a 16-ounce lead bag, so it has a better chance of pushing through leaves and returning to ground level. Also recommend keeping your line in a 5-gallon bucket or on a tarp in a big figure-8. Suggest initially using 150+ feet of 1/8-inch polyethylene line, wearing a hardhat-goggles, keeping others away from the drop-zone, not taking your eyes off the moving bag and purchasing the optional Big Shot trigger system. If you use 3/4-inch rope, you will need to pull up a lighter-weight rope first. I probably have cut down over 5,000 trees in the last 45+ years and have seen many accidents. I now tie a line up in 80% of trees I cut near houses, if there is "any" chance of the notch breaking, a gusty wind or the tree doing something unexpected which could cause damage. We only used this roughly six times over the last three-months, but even just for the first two trees, it was well worth the investment, despite being slightly over-priced for the entire system. I am too old to be climbing up 60+ feet in trees anymore and this saved major time from screwing steps in the trees. One update after a year of use- I recommend the optional trigger system for improved accuracy, allowing users to better control, both with the aim and distance the projectile will travel. Unfortunately, the split 4-foot long poles in this kit greatly limit trigger placement, so I suggest one solid 8-foot pole, to allow the trigger to be mounted where desired. Most tree service suppliers offer the solid 8-foot poles. I also recommend buying a spare pouch and band long before you suddenly need to replace it! Safety First- wear your hard hat!

Accurate awesome axpensive
This thing is incredible. I’m not a tree pro but we do grading and a good bit of land clearing. We’re always running into a tree here and there that has to be roped and pulled. No more wasting time trying to manually throw a throw bag into tree. I have wasted hours trying to get that bag through a fork or at a certain height on the tree. This thing will launch a 9oz throw bag to amazing heights and is deadly accurate after a few practices. I love it. It’s a little pricey for a giant sling shot or “flip” for you old timers but is worth it after a few uses. It is very well made out of quality material and looks as if it’s built to last so I’m good with the price. For those of you that think it looks awkward to shoot , it is not. The way it is set up, it’s actually very comfortable to use. The first time I used it, I over shot sending the bag into what looked like low earth orbit and landed on the other side of the neighbors house. Definitely practice a few times before taking it on a job.

Works great and is FUN
I use this to send throw weights 80 feet or so into air. After some practice, it is extremely accurate.I rigged my BigShot, to maximize throw height and accuracy, by adding a ratchet strap to pull both down slingshot basket and hold basket when under tension, and added an archery release to release when I am ready to release. This is easier, safer, and more accurate than trying to do manually. With this infrastructure you can throw weight much higher than by your pull alone. To add ratchet strap, I drilled small hole in plastic cap base of BigShot which accommodates the plastic hook end of my ratchet strap. To add the bow release, I got the TruFire Patriot Archery Compound Bow Release (also sold on Amazon). Being efficient (lazy), I did not modify bow release at all, I just made short paracord loop to attach to other end of ratchet strap.

Essential tool for radio hobbyists
I purchased the big shot to launch rope over trees to hang shortwave radio wire antennas. The item is built well and very sturdy.I was able to start hitting my targets within one or two practice attempts.I can see the slingshot bands decaying under UV light so store the slingshot assembly out of direct sunlight, in a cool dry place.Separately I purchased throwing line and a 12 oz weight (no thrower or rope is included)... The 12 oz weight is a little much, so I recommend a 10oz which is still enough to get a line over a tree, while having the weight to allow the line to fall back to the ground.Overall, I am happy with this item and will get good use out of it.

Amateur that has learned a lot.
I love this thing. I’m an amateur. What I’ve learned: Get a throw line with weighted bag. Absolutely purchase the Big Shot Throw. I didn’t buy the trigger. After a couple shots, I can now shoot my line up 40-50 feet accurately. I’ve learned that you don’t have to tie your rope on the line where it lands. Pull the line up through the branches and then drop it down closer to the tree. Also I was trying to pull my 3/4” braided rope up with a large loop tied on the end getting caught in the V’s of the tree. The throw line I purchased here is excellent and has a waxy feel that grips well. I unknotted my rope and now tie the line directly to the end of the rope. I wrapped it a couple times and then knotted. It pulls up through the tree without getting caught. You professional tree cutters probably think this is silly because it’s common knowledge. But not for me. Hope this helps someone else.

Difficult to use for a small person.
Solid construction. But near impossible to use for a small person - I am 5'5" & 100lbs, I am thin - but I'm all muscle. I am a circus aerialist (I have a LOT of upper body strength) and I could not use this product safely.I think it's possible, but perhaps for larger bodied people who just have more mass (I am trained to rig safety gear and I DO trim my own trees...) But this "line rigging aid" just didn't help me. Lol. Guess I have to keep tossing my weight and pull line by hand (no problem! - I have better success that way).ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES! AND EVEN A HELMET WHEN USING! The weight you use with this product can easily hurt you!

Excellent 👌
I'm a Licensed Arborist and really just needed this for one job as I usually used my partner's unit. But decided heck let's try this. It worked great. And tbh , if you didn't know it. His expensive unit from which cost him 5 times as much looks the exact same as this one. Works the exact same.I usually don't like buying arborist stuff off here but this one unit I'd recommend.

Very impressed
I pulled it out of the box put my throw weight in it an on my second shot I was able to put over the branch 75’ up. Works well. I wish they had more poles available so you don’t have to squat on the ground.

As advertised
The big shot works excellent. I am a Irata Electrician and this slingshot has helped me numerous times get the bean bag where it needed to go.I wish it was a little cheaper but what it costs is well worth the time saved from climbing around in a oil field plant and the ensuing frustration.
