Honeycomb pattern damages when removing the mould
This candle mould is a very soft but thick silicone. I initially thought it would be very difficult to remove the finished candle. The instructions say to pierce a hole in the bottom to thread through a wick, but I use a wick retainer when making candles – it’s a bit faffy but the method I prefer, so no need to make a hole.To make this candle, I only had leftover bit & pieces of wax, so it has come out a naff brown colour, but good enough for this test. The candle was fairly easy to remove by peeling back the whole mould so it ends up inside out and releases the candle. The honeycomb pattern is far from perfect, as you can see in the images, with irregular patterning so this isn’t very good, and some damage to the pattern was a result of removing the mould as you have to grip it quite tightly when peeling it back. The mould stands slightly wonky to one side, and so the candle does as well, but this can be fixed by flattening the bottom of the candle, so another negative point. The mould cleaned afterwards easily by being run under hot water.

Difficult To Remove A Finished Candle Without Damaging The Pattern
I enjoy making candles in my leisure time and was really looking forward to casting some Honeycomb textured candles using this WYAHYQ Candle mould. The mould looks well made from a durable silicone which is reasonably flexible. The user does need to pierce a hole in the bottom if using the mould for candles for the wick to pass through. In use I found that due to the intricate pattern combined with the thickness of the silicone that removing a finished candle is very difficult without pieces of the casting breaking off. I have tried a few times while also making sure that the wax had been left to stand in the mould for sufficient time with the same end result. I have a selection of similar moulds with slightly less intricate patterns and have not experienced this issue with those. I think this mould would be fine for casting resin or other mediums which are more durable than candle wax. I found it easy to wash the mould after use even though there were many fragments from the pattern retained after I removed each candle. In summary it is in my opinion a well made mould which unfortunately didn't perform as well as I hoped when I used it to make some candles. I will try using it with some different types of wax and if that solves the issue with the pattern breaking I will update this review.

Bof, peu mieux faire
