Best grow bags on the market at a great price! 5 grain is the way to go!
Myco labs has it all! Decontaminated my bags, spore syringe, monotube (also from myco labs ) an old tote to keep them in the dark and and a old grow tent tarp that went over a 4 tier shelve with 75 percent isopropal alcohol as usual and commonplace. The spores were fresh but I've had little luck with them before they have either grown yeast and never fully colonized or molded. Well less than a week in I strapped on some disposable gloves sprayed em down and went to check the bags and try and get some good ol' oxygen inside sense they were 3 layers deep and I thought it was a bit much. Then i saw it! Mycelium growth in less than a week from spores! No freaking way! Then to boot they included a card with a number for questions and answered all my inquires with clear and concise answers which really boosted my moral! To have experts giving me support meant my mycology journey was no longer a solo endeavor but one with mentors! I've read that the percentage of spores growing can be low and contamination high but there it was small but healthy! Sense then myco labs has continued to support me in my education in mycology and I've stepped up my game with the mind set that I will succeed! No matter how many times it takes to find that perfect groove I won't give up! Sense then I've talked with Myco labs again checked out there websites and after getting a healthy culture that's in my fridge chillin' I've choosen, with Jeff from Myco labs help, some grain jars and substrate. Soon I hope to see plenty more growth and one day after much research, hard work and money spent fresh mushrooms! I've been disappointed before but this time I'm delighted! I think this is the future! So anyone who's having doubts you must remember that contamination cannot be completely controlled and for now we must carry on our pursuit of knowledge but today we have a company that truly can be trusted in to have our backs! To me that's priceless because they have generously given knowledge that took a lifetime of trial and error to gain and that's something you can put in the bank. Bags my go bad but knowledge and wisdom continue to grow even if the mycelium in one bag does not but so far everything looks way better than expected. I'll upload some pictures when I decontaminate myself and everything to be safe and let them breathe some more. Myco labs thanks! I couldn't have come this far without all the help. It's awesome to know there's people in my corner. I don't know what else anyone could ask for really. Thanks again and good luck to everyone on there journey! Hope to have some great pictures later! So if your still on the fence these bags are easy to use with self healing ports. They come with video instructions as well as live advice from experts. They perform better than advertised and the sturdy bags keep from accidental tears and contamination. Truly awesomeness in a bag!Update, two weeks in and you can see the mycelium is coming along nicely in the monotub and almost ready to break and shake. Everything is coming along better than expected. The latches on the side's of the monotub really make an airtight seal. They are fully detachable making sterilizing simple in a place that would be a trouble area. Mycology is amazing!Update 3 and 4 Both bags colonized completely! Inside the montotub they did great. I used two 28 quart monotubs from Myco. Between Myco labs and Midwestern its been smooth sailing. Iayered the grain spawn with a bag of bulk substrate that was about 4 pounds i think from Midwestern. The same people who I got these grow bags and monotubs from. The first tub looks to be about fully colonized and im expecting pins any time now! The advice I got from the phone line with the products really helped. After seeing so many videos and doing so much research talking to a real person with experience just felt right and I gotta say I have no complaints! The mycelium smelled fresh almost a scent like spearmint gum. I put on more pictures and i hope my video loads. Its a bit long. If not ill make another.as well as get a few pics inside the monotube now its that its almost ready to pin. I used a UVC light to help sterilize everything and there perfectly safe just don't forget your sunglasses. Well, this was definitely the way to go!! Certainly satisfied with the money. Mycology has gone from a wish to reality thanks to Myco labs and Midwestern. Thanks again guys. Any questions please feel free to ask.Sorry so sorry for the delay in my review. I used two of Myco labs small monotubs for each fully colognized grain bag. They each wieghed 2 5 pounds I used a bag of Mycos 5 pound substrate. A thicker bottom with 3 layers of grain spawn that, once opened had a fresh smell simular to spear mint. Sense I've started my next batch in another set of Mycos monotubs and the grain spawn also had a hint of fresh spear mint. I put a thicker top layer of substrate than the ones in-between the grain spawn. I immediately put the monotubs back in my tote and plunged it into darkness...seemed at the time I never would observe mycology.... would I ever even see a single mushroom?? I pondered. The sterilization and mixing..the making of a complete monotubs ready to colonize was a long process including the hour to jet the air sit still it was a 2 and half hour process. So I waited in the next one. Letting my first attempt process in my mind and in growth... After a week I pulled the monotub up to see the top all in white except two patches..a week or two later little knobs appeared..that I soon discovered to be pins!! Out of the dark my monotub raised! Still here in view as I write this.Amazingly through all the waiting... those pins took off! Quickly growing into a thick canopy of mushrooms...the excitement of seeing it happening for the first time well...I hope you too can experience this for yourself. If you are wanting to grow mushrooms look to Myco otr Midwestern labs. There products there live advice....I remember talking to Merrisa about picking my first flush and finding a dehydratior. She easily gave me the correct temperature and length of time to get them ready for storage sense there were way to many to have at once. Now I have a whole new world open to me. New cultures came in..Agar plates...spore prints... making substrate and my own grain spawn...they had a answers and even made a YouTube video about my question! So if your wondering...is this the right thing to buy? Yes! Yes it is. I'm very proud to post these pics of my first successful harvest! Thanks Midwestern and good luck to all of you one day mycologists. These people are here to see you succeed. If not just the product the support is priceless!

Reliability
First rate all the way. Great work! Company goes out of their way for the customer. Genius.

Not worth it, lost time, LC, and money.
I've never had a contamination in inoculated grain, or complete failure of colonization (regardless of contamination). Tried 6 bags, never again. Contamination or failure on all counts. Jar spawn from same syringe at same time, 100% success. Never again.

Grain bags!!!
Good bags, they all came as advertised. The price is fair and they look healthy too! I expected them to be a tad bigger but regardless theyre what i ordered. There is an injection port that is self healing. I've injected one bag and now im waiting for mycelium to begin growing. Excellent grain bags.

Used several times now with no contamination. Works perfectly. Great instructions included.
Shipped fast. Arrived fast.Inoculated immediately upon arrival and started seeing healthy growth in 2-3 days. It’s been 5 days and all looks good so far!I would consider myself to have intermediate level experience but the bags came with clear precise instructions appropriate for beginners.I will be buying these again.

Worked just fine.
Inoculated 2 bags, both took a month or so to fully colonize but no contamination, little expensive but if you wanna go a cheaper route, just use rice bags or coffee grounds etc. No qualms.

One bag useless
Unfortunately, one of the bags. Was completely dry as a bone and had black mold in it. The other bag so far so good.

Both of my came sterilized and worked accordingly
1st time attempting anything within the hobby of mycology and enjoyed reasonable success with this product. Both strains of fungi that I innoculated these with, loved this grain combination. Since using this product to fruition, I have used multiple other mediums with very little success, truly highlighting the significance of starting with a STERILE grain product to innoculate with. That being said, the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars( I typically don't give 5 star reviews) is cuz it does seem overpriced. The grain itself is ridiculously cheap, so for this price : ur basically paying for their usage of an autoclave/pressure cooker... making this a product priced for the convenience of not buying/owning/using pressure cooker. If it ever comes down in price , even slightly, I will more than likely be purchasing more. Til then: its brown rice for me!lol.Ps- dont forget to employ ur aseptic technique. Like everybody else says: its paramount to success in this field!
