The access door is really nice and shipped fast. I love that its insulted and I got lucky they had the size I needed. I had professional install it but it ended up with a little sag so I don't know if they didn't attach both hinges on both sides or not and I'm afraid to mess with so for the most part it will stay that way it is. Seems to holding up fine. I didn't inspect the hinges on both sides when I got it my mistake so I don't know if it was damaged or just the installation. However the drywall company were extremely professional and measured everything correctly including the cuts. You can see the sag in the pic.So just make sure that both hinges are inserted into each other. Otherwise I'm very happy that I purchased this. I will order another one once I find where more plumbing needs access.

Hey, yea so I got a few of these access panels for my project. Installation was easy, just have to think a little bit, but I would like to think most folks can handle tracing a cut out of the required size opening for installation. The insulated door is a nice feature for my application as these were installed on an exterior wall that concealed some plumbing in a finished basement. These panels provided a solid value for the money and more than adequate accessibility to the plumbing in the event that some time in the future there is a need to service that plumbing.... knock on wood we don't.... right?

It's not $100 or more. That was my first requirement. The insulation will help (by a very small amount) keep sound levels down. My only issue with this unit is that the latching mechanism for this panel is really tight. It's hard to pry it open without a tool. It also likes to dislodge from the hinge when opening. This is backwards. The hinge should be tighter and the latch a bit looser. Those complaints stated... this is still a good unit. I built a wall that covers my humidistat on my furnace. This door allow me to access the humidistat to turn it on/off and adjust the setting as needed. The insulation helps keep the noise of the air duct on the furnace side of the wall. Did I test to see how much it helps? Nope. But an insulated plastic door is better than a non-insulated plastic door. So not perfect but I'm not going to spend well north of $100 for a product like this. That makes this product a good value for me.

This access panel is very nice. It was easy to trace around for the correct size hole. It's a snug fit with an insulated door. Due to a waterline leak we had to either patch the wall or go with a panel. We are very glad that we have the panel just incase we need to get to the pipes again.

perfect fit for the 12"x12" hole I had already cut to access the 4 way shower valve. Door swings open fully and can be removed quickly (frame remains in place) for future work. I specifically ordered this access panel because it was insulated and was perfect for the wall of my pantry.
