Has worked great for me the last 2 years. Uses two 9 volt batteries. I use headphones 99% of the time and use the tone/discrimination settings more than the visual needle display. It has helped me find quarters, nickels, dimes, lots of pennies, lots of pull tabs and aluminum junk. Still haven't found allusive gold or old coins yet.....but still looking. Good price and quality for an introductory model, especially if you're not sure if you want to get serious with the hobbie.

Great metal detector for beginners. Easy to operate and very sensitive. I found tons of metal pieces in the yard the very first use.
