Marvelous book. I already knew Lisa Hooper's work and think this book to be a lovely introduction to it. Her writings about her attitudes to wildlife and underlying philosophy make fascinating reading.

Langford Press wildlife art books are always of a remarkably high standard and this is no exception. Lisa Hooper is a print-maker from South-west Scotland,m specializing in wildlife, especially birds, and wild landscapes. This book focuses largely on birds and Lisa takes us through the print-making process with clear descriptions, often illustrated by a sequence of images of the print being made and printed, and the completed print, to show just how she does it Some techniques are familiar - etching, linocuts etc - but even these are developed in various ways, and others are probably new to most readers - from simple relief prints to collagraphs, monotypes, and woodblock printing with a variety of Japanese forms. The technical side is fascinating and will inspire others to have a go, surely, but even if you are not a prospective printmaker, you will enjoy simply browsing the lovely pictures in this book- bold and colourful to exceptionally subtle and delicate works. Try it! Rob Hume.
