The equipment works just fine. I rushed to judgment and was wrong.
This is a good product and work very well. I hit the wrong box requesting a return. It was a mistake.

Nowhere Near the Rated Radius!
PROS: These "HE" nozzles have a lower flow rate, and they DO break up the spray more evenly so that the ground closer to the sprinkler gets better coverage than with a conventional head. CONS: Having said that, I bought 8, 10 & 12 foot radius versions and each one (at 40 PSI) falls far short of the radius that RainBird stamped into the head by 25 to 30%!! The shortfall increases as you go up in size, but figure 3 to 4 feet less than the stated radius when you order - and of course, if you buy a larger size you CAN always choke it down with the center-screw. RainBird simply needs to re-rate the entire line, and come up with 'real' 12 & 15 footers...
