I’ve seen a handful of negative reviews stating they don’t fit, stick out too far, etc….First, depending on the depth of your pocket hole, chances are it will stick out. They’re designed to fit 1/2” to 1” holes! You trim or sand down after the glue dries.As far as not getting the plug into the hole, there’s a tip on Kreg’s site that states to put a handful in the microwave for a few seconds to dry out any moisture. Haven’t had to try that, but will if I run into any problems.

I used them to plug pocket holes

1/2 the price of most yet same quality. The plug can be adjusted to fit hole to minimize sanding or planing for fitment. There are 2 ways to do this. 1. Drill hole in scrap wood and adjust depth until plug sits flush. 2. Drill hole in scrap wood and trim round end a 1/16” at a time until it sits flush. This is common with most pocket screw plugs.

I use a Kreg pocket hole jig pretty often which leads to some pretty gnarly holes that need to be repaired and filled. These plugs do a pretty decent job on making that happen. While in theory they should just slide right in to the hole left behind, in my experience for every 5 that you do, you might get 2 that work 'just right'. The others are either raised, unlevel, or just otherwise bad looking. These do sand down pretty easy though and you can get that uniform look and feel back with some putty and paint. I haven't tried to stain them though.I've used both the official Kreg brand as well as these, for the price - you can't beat these. Nor can you tell a big difference aside from the price difference.

Loose fitting

I tried these because I couldn’t find the other brand at a big box store. These work great and the value is outstanding. The photo shows 2x6s that have the plugs fitted 4 per board. After glueing and sanding it blends right in.

I usually just use a dowel and flush cut it, but sometimes I want to work a little faster. These are helpful for that, but you need to make sure your pocket holes are consistent.
