This hair barrette is a bit deceiving as you would not think this size would hold a lot of hair, but it does! It is curved in such a way that it holds more hair than others of the same size. Nice and sturdy and I know will last. I have thick long hair and am very pleased to have found this line of products.

You can wear it everyday, not too dressy or i dressy, so it goes with everything. Very sturdy to hold a little longer r a lot of hair! I have thick hair and it hasn’t popped open once!

I got the checkered one and it's very pretty. The only issue is the clip, as others have mentioned. It stays in my hair (I have straight hair), but it could slide out easily. I don't have confidence that it'll last the day. It's just not a strong clip.

I do not have super thick hair, but one of these clips just popped off like it was an overtaxed button on a pair of jeans after only a couple of days. The clip part detached from the plastic design part. It's a shame because I like the design. I might superglue it to another, more sturdy clip. Still, disappointing.

I put in Amazon's search engine, "barrette for thick hair," and this was one of Amazon's top contenders.Now, I did go through all of the materials offered above this barrette, and see the picture of the item with the product's dimensions, but didn't compare their numbers with my trusty ruler. My mistake.This barrette, while in size is more appropriate for a child, is quite lovely in design. In fact, it was the design that kept me coming back to this. And although disappointed with the barrette's stature, I keep dreaming of someday finding one of the same design made appropriately larger for women with thick hair.Are they listening?

This is a strong barrette that holds all my fine but thick hair. I wear my hair all back in a ponytail style with this barrette. The Barrett stays in place all day, is comfortable, not heavy. I have worn it several times and would definitely buy again in another style.

It's a very pretty barrette. But it's missing the spring part for the clasp so it looks nice in my hair for about 5 minutes & then begins sliding out. I didn't an entire day clipping it back into place as my hair fell back into my face. Very disappointing.

and great design that works, just enough tension to keep my hair tidy in a pony tail! no more elastic band that pulls!

Although pretty, this barrette is useless. I does not stay in my hair.
