Effective drainage
I used this to drain the area under a large bungalow gable end, where the south westerlies often hit it with a lot of rain. It was buried in a narrow trench and surrounded with small pebbles. A new concept for me. Not intended to act like a normal drainpipe, it actually allows the rain water to drain away naturally into the ground and only comes into use when the rain is so heavy that natural drainage cannot work quickly enough and the trench fills with water. That is when the slots in the pipe allow the excess water to enter and get carried away to an outfall some distance away. Excellent procuct. It works and is far from expensive. Highly recommended.

Garden land drain
My garden on the west coast of Scotland suffers from water logging due to the heavy rainfall we get and these flexible, perforated drains work well. I find the 80 mm the ideal diameter. After digging the trench it is best to surround the drain with stones or something similar to prevent the holes from becoming blocked with earth.

Let go of the flow with this stuff
Bought this to install a french drain at the border of my property which had been affected by flooding ingress in the wet season. Best installed flat onto weed control fabric, cover with 20mm stone to a depth of 8-12 inches and then burrito wrap the stone with the fabric and pin at the top. I installed it two years ago and the drain operates perfectly. See the Dire DIYer channel on YouTube for more details.

Best to be safe than sorry
I bought a Wollami Pine and planted it in the middle of my sloping lawn. Along came the heatwave, all of 3 days in summer 2017, followed by 6 heavy rain showers each lasting hours. The pine, which had cost me about £75 died due to water logging of roots. NOT HARDY! So I bought this pipe. Laid it under the paving slabs, covering it with some spare fleece. Took 2 days to dig the trench, lay the pipe and refill. Now waiting for Noah's flood. Blocked the top end of pipe with aerosol cap. Pipe arrived on time. Easy to handle and cut.
