Ready Seal Exterior Wood Stain & Sealer, Pecan, 5 Gallon

I purchased 15 gallons of the pecan stain. It's easy to apply and dries lighter than when first applied, leaving my decks a warm golden/brown color. It has very good water beading properties and my 50 year old pressure treated decks were left looking almost new. Wash the decks with straight bleach. I poured a gallon of bleach into a five gallon bucket and applied the bleach using a car wash brush on a stick as a mop. Let it sit for several minutes only, then rinse it thoroughly using a pressure washer. Don't bother with "deck cleaners" and "brighteners" they're a waste of time and money. Apply the stain by first using a brush to get only the areas that a 3"roller can't get to (like corners where wood meets) then finish the large areas with a 3" roller. Spindles should be stained using a lambs wool mitt.

This was a great color for our fence, and it was easy to apply once we power washed the cedar planks. The sealer and stain was good quality and they weren't smelly.

Really easy to work with. Be sure to wear appropriate protective wear if you go with the oil based. Its a bit messy, but well worth it. Turned out really beautiful. Very happy with the results.

I love ready seal. My daughter and I stained our fence ourselves. We used 2 5 gallon sizes of the pecan color. Ready seal is very forgiving and easy to use. Love it and the results!

This is basically paraffin oil. It does not leave a film finish. I like it. It seems to work well. It does not cover a lot of square footage.

I used ChatGPT to help me choose the right product for cleaning and staining my 26 year old Deck and it recommended Ready Seal in Pecan and all I can say is it nailed it. It looks beautiful and I can’t say how well it’ll repel water yet since I just applied it today but I believe it will keep my deck looking great for a long time.

This product is totally amazing. I picked out a beautiful pecan color. The fence was pressure-treated. It was very easy to apply and the fence is about about three years old. We waited a couple weeks and then we applied the new stain a few days ago and it still looks gorgeous. Clean up was very easy even though I have an inground pool and I’ll kinds of patio furniture behind the fence. I just put down some plastic and tarps so my pool will be protected .. clean up is very easy also ..The only thing I’m waiting on is it to dry fully so if I need to give the exterior side another coat because it takes a lot the sun . I would have to say I am extremely happy with the company that makes Ready Seal stain and thank you for Amazon for having it on line at your store site at a good reasonable price!!! definitely will buy again .. absolutely love the color

After 20 years of water based deck stains, this is the one I will only use from now on. I love the long lasting color, the level of weatherproofing my cedar plank deck, and how easy it is to apply. I applied with a deck brush with ease and less strain on my back.

We used this stain on our deck at the cottage. The cottage is in a wooded area by a lake. Mould can form easily on the deck. Once we prepped the deck, the stain went on very smoothly. We chose to put on two layers of stain due to the age of the deck and the very moist environment. We could not find this stain in any stores around us as people are doing lots of home projects during the pandemic. This 5 gallon pail was a great price! Our colour, pecan, is very true to the colour of a pecan. It is very rich looking. The deck is approximately 20 years old and now it looks brand new! I would highly recommend this stain.

Love the colour of this stain. Just done my deck this fall so cannot comment on the longevity of it. Seems to repel the water great.

This was the easiest stain i've worked with, fast to clean up and to apply. Wood brightened then stained my deck which is about 10 years old. Looks fantastic. The color did fade out over a few months but still beads water and looks much fresher than it did before. At the current rate i'll get abound 2 years between applications on horizontal to keep the color fresh, and its great that i don't have to strip it.
