Trouble free for Airless Sprayer, Two coats, Pecan tone looks great.
To prep , I used backpack sprayer and hit the fence with pool chlorinator from Walmart diluted to half strength, didn't bother with spraying off afterword as it was pretty much dry by the time I got done. That pretty much bleached everything back to like new, probably not great for wood but whatever. Was 3-4 weeks later by the time I got around to applying the stain. I flipped the cans over the night before and then stirred them pretty good that day. Used an airless sprayer for ease of application, was worth the time saving and ease of application despite knowing I'm sure I lost plenty to over spray. 10 gallons was just enough to do two coats, both sides of 150ft of fence about 6ft tall so whatever that comes out to mathematicians. It looks decent enough after the first coat and tried to talk myself out of putting second coat on which is what instructions say to do but as it only took about an hour or so to do I manned up and put the second coat on and glad I did, looks great so go ahead and talk yourself into like I did. I used the pecan finish and turned out great, can see the wood texture just fine and there were no orange tones which were my two biggest worries. Really fond of this product, definitely new go to on new wood.

Impossibly Easy and Beautiful!
We have an elevated deck off our ranch and I needed to stain the wood after it dried this spring...I looked high and far for quality stain and sealer because this deck is in the sun most of every day as it is on the south side of the house. Couldn't have gotten a better product. Couple things: 1. Shipping was solid - well packaged and prompt. 2. Container is metal, well made and easy to haul around - I especially liked the pop top that had the pull up/out spout so I could pour the stain into a smaller container with out spilling it everywhere (YAY!). 3. Stain was easy to apply with a standard bristle brush and it was colored to description. I had cleaned the wood, but not done any other prep. The stain/sealer went on easily and evenly with blending brush strokes and by working quickly. Minimal drips or runs - it was the perfect thickness to soak in, even on vertical surfaces. The wood was thirsty for it! 4. Second coat went on beautifully as well and after it dried, the color was even richer - love it!! 5. Minimal odor and no need to clear coat - extra YAY!

Awesome results!
It worked very well but I needed to buy an additional gallon from a supply store locally to finished . I did both side of this fence and it took 6 gallons in total. It did bring a nice color for a faded fence. Look at the pics!!! Super easy to apply with an 2 gallon battery operated sprayer

Advertisement is true- it works!
This is an unbiased review. This product is EXCELLENT! Best stain BY FAR that I’ve ever used. Goes on easy, does not blotch and absorbs in the wood EVENLY providing a great pattern. Applied to 1 yr old redwood deck. Sanded first, pressure washed, then let dry for 3 days. Used a brush taped to a pole for gaps between boards, then a 4 inch wide 1/2” nap roller. Couldn’t use a sprayer due to wind. Very very easy app. O All I can say is wow- a product that actually does what it claims!

Great stain - horrible shipping issues
This stain is a great product. Unfortunately, we had to place several orders over and over again as a LOT of our orders were canceled on us because of a “problem with shipping”. Which makes sense because the ones that did finally make it to us all arrived severely damaged. The product itself is great but definitely needs to be packaged with a lot more care!

Easy application
Thought I would post here about my application of Ready Seal stain(Pecan)on my cedar fence. The stain went on really nice and as the reviews have said it is a very forgiving stain. It levels out and blends nicely even when over applied. Instead of renting a sprayer I went ahead and bought a cheap (on sale) Harbor Freight airless sprayer - Avanti (AV-APS1) for $240. Along with the 20inch tip extension and an extra 50ft hose so I wouldn’t have to move the unit and cans around much. I would also recommend the Harbor freight respirator set with goggles… $20. I definitely needed them as the overspray will get to you even on a calm day. I bought the Avanti tip for finer material (311) which does NOT fit in this model sprayer so I returned it and bought a Home Depot similar tip which fit perfectly. I believe the finer tip not only helped with overspray but used less stain as well. I also bought the finer 100 filter screen for the gun handle from HF and replaced what originally came in the set. Stain was expensive ($200/5 gal) at Home Depot…I found it on Amazon on sale for $160/5 gallons. Albeit the cans came dented up pretty well from USPS. No leaks though. So on my 320LF of 6ft tall new/raw cedar standard 3 rail with cap fencing (both sides) I used less than 20 gallons. I had about 1 gallon left over. It was more work than I was expecting for my 50 years young nursing my ankle after surgery 9 weeks ago but I was able to finish the fence in ~ 5 hours working nonstop. I’m sure it would have taken me several days to roll/brush it. Glad I went ahead and bought the airless sprayer. The stain is a bit darker than I imagined but it does lighten up after time Ive heard. Time will tell on durability. I will likely apply another coat next year. Happy with the outcome.

Plan to Continue to Use Ready Seal
This is the second time I used Ready Seal to stain my red cedar deck floorboards (in New England). I get fairly strong afternoon sun, so in my case, based on the results of my first application, it seems that reapplying Ready Seal every two years will keep the deck looking good. In my experience, reapplication every 2 to 3 years is typical of every semi-transparent stain I've used so no surprise there. However, so far, Ready Seal is my favorite. I find that the stain applies quickly and easily using a pad with a long handle. The pecan color is beautiful and it's hard to goof up... no lap marks. This year I was not able to get to stain the deck until November (temp was in the low 50s). I decided to take a chance and go ahead and stain the deck although rain was forecasted for the next day (24 hours later). Unfortunately, the weather forecast was wrong and it started raining while I was in the middle of staining, so obviously, the stain had not dried. The rain continued until the afternoon of the next day. Later that day, after the rain stopped, I noticed the stain seemed to have set up enough so I could walk on the deck. I then used my leaf blower to blow the rainwater (which beaded up) off the deck. I was pleased and relieved to find the no damage was done and the stain looks great. Needless to say, I plan to continue to use this product. Before staining, I cleaned the deck using a bleach mix as directed by the manufacturer. After letting the bleach sit for 20 minutes or so, I used a small electric pressure washer with a surface cleaner attachment to clean/rinse the deck. This prep procedure worked very well for me.

Great Stain for the Cottage Deck
We used this stain on our deck at the cottage. The cottage is in a wooded area by a lake. Mould can form easily on the deck. Once we prepped the deck, the stain went on very smoothly. We chose to put on two layers of stain due to the age of the deck and the very moist environment. We could not find this stain in any stores around us as people are doing lots of home projects during the pandemic. This 5 gallon pail was a great price! Our colour, pecan, is very true to the colour of a pecan. It is very rich looking. The deck is approximately 20 years old and now it looks brand new! I would highly recommend this stain.

Easy to apply
This was the easiest stain i've worked with, fast to clean up and to apply. Wood brightened then stained my deck which is about 10 years old. Looks fantastic. The color did fade out over a few months but still beads water and looks much fresher than it did before. At the current rate i'll get abound 2 years between applications on horizontal to keep the color fresh, and its great that i don't have to strip it.

Colour not as expected. Don’t use on a deck.
Not dark at all. Pecan should be darker than this I would think. Very yellow on cedar. Haven’t done the whole deck yet but the pic is of a sample. Can’t speak to longevity either but it took days to dry on this sample. Stayed oily. UPDATE: Deck is done. Added a few photos. Colour still isn’t what I was expecting. More yellow/orange than desired. Was easy to apply. We’ll see about longevity. Will update next year to see how it does after the winter. FYI. When applying to cedar. Make sure it has aged for at least 3-4 months and wash with a brightener before using this. If not the oil will sit on the surface and not penetrate into the wood. Which will leave the wood oily. Where I had my deck box on the deck for the summer the oil did not penetrate properly. I had to wipe down the boards the next day to remove excess oil and the colour and oil didn’t penetrate. Update #2: IT’S PEELING! This stuff it trash. Oil shouldn’t peel. One winter and it’s no longer water proof and is now peeling like the box store junk. The whole reason I went oil is to prevent peeling. TRASH. UPDATE #3: sands the entire deck and reapplied as I thought maybe the cedar needed sanding to allow the deck to absorb the oil better. Still crap. Been 2 weeks and we are still tracking oil around the house and on the bottom of everything. Still Trash for a cedar deck. Use it on pressure treated products fine and fences and other vertical products. Not a deck.

Good color, stain consistency an issue
The product came damaged and the constency was not what I was expecting based on what I had to pay for the purchase in Canada. I was hesitant to aggressively stir or shake the product before use as the instructions on the side of the product did not say anything and something you are not suppose to shake a stain. Long story short I found about 1/2 Inch of Sludge at the bottom of the pail near the end of my application. On the bright side I am happy with the color. Attached is a picture of the stain after 3 months.

Great wood stain for fences
I have used a lot of wood stains in the past. This one tops them all. Ready Seal has great stain colours. We selected the Pecan stain and applied two coats. Looks great and we received many compliments from neighbours and contractors.
