Perfect grill marks and no smoke!
So far so good. I'll revisit this review if that changes in the next few years (got a 4 year extended warranty so I'll be trackin' it). The grill works great! It puts grill marks, NO GREASY SMOKE in the house, amazingly quiet, and really easy to clean. The temperatures were a little confusing at first. They don't line up with the LED indicators, but once you realize there are exactly the same number of settings as there are marks, it all becomes clear. I haven't really used the griddle yet (used for bacon but that was a mistake--use the grill!), so can't comment on that yet, but it seams non-stick enough to work for whatever you might want to use it. I will say, it is a little tilted, and not because of the counter. It just sits a little cocked due to the way it sits on the underlying assembly. It's not even noticeable with the grill, but I imagine some things cooked on a griddle might want to run (like eggs??? And possibly pancakes--not sure how much pancakes run). I was very surprised that the system worked to remove smoke so well. It's a fan blowing over a tray of water. That couldn't possibly work. But it does. I cleaned all the grease from my overhead cabinets (under, outside, and inside [that's right, inside]) and not a hint of it coming back. Cleaning is so easy--just stick the pieces-parts in the dishwasher. The non-stick grill surface comes out perfect every time. I do hand-clean the drip tray and water tray after every fourth or fifth cleaning, but only because you can see traces of the old burnt on grease and/or tell tale residue of the drippings. But who cares? They are the drip and water trays! You can't see them and there's no health hazard since they've been cleaned with soap and water, plus the internal temperature of the device. It would be like worrying about sterilizing an outdoor grill under where you put the charcoal. The pieces-parts do take up most of dishwasher space, but so worth it. I just put them in first, and then get really inventive about how I put the rest of the dishes, etc., in the washer. There are places within the unit that will, over time, accumulate grease and grime and that aren't easily reached for cleaning, but it appears (haven't done it yet) that the unit does come apart relatively easily, so if once a season you want to do a thorough internal cleaning, you can. In summary, and as I said, so far so good! It is operating exactly as I hoped. Even better! I expected a much noisier fan, and it is very quiet.

This is the real deal
Where to begin? First off I LOVE this grill. I have a complete outdoor kitchen with Gas grill, Pellet grill and a Green Egg.... I am a grill enthusiast and love to cook. I saw a review on youtube and figured it would be great for the wife when I am not home etc... plus the griddle was a nice add on. I must say this thing is awesome!!! Never in my life did I expect to get real grill marks from an indoor electric grill but I was wrong. Not only do I get great grill marks the food tastes great! I can go on for hours about all the great things this grill has to offer and it is worth the price no matter what (if you use it as a griddle on the weekends just to make pancakes). I will simply mention a few minor cons so your expectations are realistic. The temp is good and it sears very well and like I said perfect grill marks. BUT the temp could be slightly more accurate. THe dial also moves counter clockwise and that is just a mental thing... OCD for me. The fan is great and does a good job but you need to make sure there is water in the pan to absorb the smoke. Speaking of the water pan... my only complaint it you need to remove everything to get to the water pan. minor gripe since the thing comes apart so easily. few more minor things... if you have solid surface counters like granite then the little rubber feet can slide a little. The lit fits really well and I found that if you are doing steaks or really anything it is best to preheat the grill with the lid on for at least 10 minutes. If you turn it on and immediately put your food on then it will not do a good job. Preheat is key... Finally, I would buy this again and it is really a great indoor grill. It does not replace my outdoor kitchen but on a school night or a busy week day you can grill a steak, make a burger or make pancakes in a pinch. Best new kitchen tool in my arsenal.

Sometimes things aren't too good to be true.
First I will say that I was very skeptical from the time I saw the commercial on TV, to the time my wife actually ordered this and we received it. I grill as much as I can and the ideal of 'grilling' indoors raised a lot of red flags for me. So with that said. It was packaged really well for shipping and arrived on time damage free. So off to a good start I would say. The only real assembly was the lid which was very simple. I thought it would be much smaller, but the actual cooking space was sufficient for 3 nice size ribeyes. And I do like the fact that you also receive a griddle plate that you can change out with the grill plate. The control panel is very easy to figure out. Simply turn the power on, turn the fan on and set the temperature. You really can't get much simpler than that. And it actually heated up pretty quickly. We cooked at 450 degrees and it took may 5 minutes to reach that temp. So I cooked 6 ribeyes and it took about 14 minutes for each, so about 30 minutes of cook time for all of them. It cooked them perfectly. I do have an electronic thermometer to check the temp, but there were no flare up burns or anything like that. The steaks were cooked evenly all the way through. We also put on some squash when the steaks were done and grilled that up. Again, perfectly cooked. And clean it is so easy. Put the plate, bottom pan, and drip pan into the dishwasher, then wipe the rest down. Oh, I forgot to mention the biggest factor about having a smokeless indoor grill. Does it smoke? It actually does not. The fan really does pull all the smoke in. Turn the fan off for a second and you can see what it is actually doing. This is so cool. I am glad I got it. And since I made an extra ribeye, the griddle will be tested in the moring for my steak and eggs. If you are on the fence about this, it is definitely worth it.

I had difficulty cooking anything but steaks
This is the best indoor cooking tool I have ever used....with one exception, albeit a big one....it is only ( for me anyway ) absolutely top notch for cooking steaks. They turn out perfectly, very juicy, the exact color of sear I desire on my steaks, and I like em rare, this will put a perfect char on the outside leaving the inside quite rare if I set it up to do so. On the other hand, I had ZERO luck in trying to accomplish the same thing cooking chicken. To be fair, the model I bought did not come with any cookbooks, however, having cooked for over 50 years, I have a pretty good idea what it takes to at least cook chicken, in about anything I might add,. However, despite several attempts, including cooking chicken at a much lower temp for a longer time, I still find the outside of the bird always gets way to dark before the inside even gets to begin cooking. Now, I have to admit that in my younger days, enjoying all of my meats very, very rare, I tried chicken only half cooked ( at best ) when I was young and considerably dumber than I am now ( which required some effort on my part! ) and noticed that like my steak, chops, roast, etc, the chicken had much more flavor half raw than it did dried out cooked very well done. So, for years I ate chicken that was cooked, at the very best case , still mostly raw, in reality it was only a few clicks from mostly uncooked at all. It was so rare that many of the times I would have to fight a vein in the drumstick that was hanging on to the main body and refused to let go, I would hang on as well and pull so hard eventually the verin would snap, often slapping me in the face like a broke rubber band, sending a little spray of chicken blood in the faces of anyone around me. Fortunately, there were usually very few of them, most were off in a corner dry heaving at the time. Sorry, I tend to tell too much, so honest about things I should keep to myself they are embarrassing, but I was taught to always tell the truth. Military parents, nuff said. Lucky to have had them. At any rate, I have NEVER been able to properly cook anything but steaks in this device properly, but cook them well it does in incredible fashion, and I am extremely impressed with that aspect. I think the main problem is that I have no guidelines to use, I bought this not from the " as seen on TV" commercial which as a ton of stuff with it ( including 2 cookbooks ) I did not need at a much higher price than Amazon , and Amazon with their incredible customer support, return policy, amazing number of choices of anything will always be our first choice for anything we want, even though they do not always have the best price, in fact, often they are not, but close enough for government work, so my model, which came with all the parts needed, did not come with any cookbooks. I will find, order, online look, etc for cookbooks to see if I am doing something wrong, after a good retrial, I may revise the rating. BTW, I know you must be wondering two things...was that a BS story about liking to eat nearly raw chicken ( every single word was true, kinda embarrassed to say ) and do I do it now? Well, NO, ..not any longer....( by the way, even back many years ago, people looked very odd at me when gobbling down a half cooked chicken, back then a restaurant would actually cook it anyway you wanted it, if you were to ask for it now, probably get asked to leave immediately, arrested if possible, as it is HIGHLY frowned on, I know, I tried it a few times in the last few years as a joke really...went over like a turd in a punchbowl ) .when I was young it was in the 50's, 60' 70's and none of the stuff was out about how dangerous that was, so it has been stopped in its tracks. Which begs the question, if its as dangerous as they say, how did I get away with decades of a practice they try to tell us now is like the kiss of death on the first shot? I think we were so ignorant of the facts back then many things now considered as similar to trying to croak yourself were simply fine back then, and while they may have cause a problem on occasion, it seemed to be very rare, not sure what has changed over the years.

So glad I purchased this.
I just got my 1500w unit last night. First use was today with some beef kabobs from my local butcher. This unit was super easy to get set up and it warmed up in roughly five minutes. I immediately heard what I wanted to hear when I place the kabobs on the grill plate. That, "grill sizzle," or, "grizzle" as I call it. I knew at that point I was going to be able to get a char and grill marks like I wanted to. Both of these kabobs cooked in about seven or eight minutes. As you can see above (sorry for bad light), it cooled the beef perfectly. I haven't cleaned it yet, but that doesn't look too difficult at all. I already love this unit. I wanted to add that it really, truly is smokeless. I kept the lid on so it would get the internal temp where I wanted it, but when I lifted the lid to rotate the meat there was literally NO smoke. So far, this works exactly as advertised and I'm so happy I pulled the trigger on this. I'll try the griddle plate at a later date. Con: The only con I see visually is that the griddle plate is small. I wish the entire unit was slightly larger. When I cook breakfast for my family (there's four of us) I want to be able to place most, if not all, of the entire package of bacon on a griddle at the same time. This will hold roughly five slices at a time (guestimation since I haven't used it yet). So if you are buying this mainly for the griddle and you are coming for more than a couple people, I'd look elsewhere, unless you don't mind doing it in stages. Which honestly, I don't mind because I feel like this unit will keep me from getting hot spots like I get with EVERY OTHER GRIDDLE I'VE EVER OWNED. Anyway, I digress. Bottom line: Get this unit (I recommend the 1500w)! *Update: I just cleaned this unit after my kabobs and my love for this machine is going through the roof. Cleanup took me all of 30 seconds. The kabobs had left crusty residue on the grill plate so I was a little concerned. Literally one wipe with my sponge cleaned off each line. It was amazing. Con: There is no way to drain bacon grease which is a pain, I've had to take paper towels and sop it up, which is less than ideal.

Perfect quality at a very fair price. Five stars from Tombstone, AZ!
Three years ago, my wife passed on from Alzheimers, and I just stopped cooking and went to TV dinners. But one night, out with friends, I found myself watching a long, long infomercial for the Smokeless Grill. Ordered it, and suddenly am enjoying cooking again. It came without the two cookbooks, which the company immediately sent to me... very helpful, very pleasant people. It works perfectly, exactly as described... like where it claims to get rid of the smoke... it does that, although of course you still smell the cooking. I guess they could have sealed it up like a pressure cooker, but that wouldn't work too well for grilling, would it? Anyway, I am very happy with the way it cooks... beef and vegetables for me so far... and, like they say, you can cook from frozen. It is very, very easy to clean... all the parts, plates, cooking utensils, knives etc in less than 15 minutes. Infomercials are a fine way to bring a new product to market... truly new products that otherwise would never see the light of day. This one is a delight at a very attractive price. One suggestion to the inventor: sell us grill owners optional equipment -- and start with a third grill pan, that is half-flat and half-grill... a combination of the two types of pans that come with it. And anything else you can think up... we grill owners out here are a very happy group to sell more stuff to!

Updated: I definately should have gotten this a couple years ago, instead of a gas Weber BBQ
Update after over a year: We couldn't be happier with this purchase. This grill has held up well, given that we use it at least once a week, and some times more. It remains easy to clean and continues to provide even heat, with no smoke. We have been making steaks, hamburgers, poppers, grilled vegetables, grilled sausages, and even pancakes, and all have turned out delicious and well cooked. This deserves 10 stars. We moved to a place that didn't allow gas BBQs, so we began looking at electric ones for our small patio. None of them seemed quite right - mostly bad reviews. We found this and thought, "What the heck.. Let's give it a try". We've had it for about 3 weeks now and have cooked six meals on it, including poppers, hamburgers and hot dogs. So delicious! Real grill marks on the meats and real char for the poppers. It's on the kitchen counter top and we find that we do not often have to run the vent. It's truly smokeless and the venting is for kitchen smells. We literally wipe off burnt on cheese with a microfiber towel and then rinse in soapy water. All clean. The final verdict from our grillmaster "If I'd have known how great this was, I would not have swapped one Weber gas grill for another a couple years ago. I would have just gotten this."

Didn't last a year!
When i first got this grill i loved it. The smokeless fan is very helpful for removing and preventing smoke from cooking. I love the options of having a grill and griddle. Both trays were easy to clean when I first purchased but soon it became more difficult to clean. The temperature control works great. Heat distribution was okay but when the fan was on the temperature gauge showed it wasn't ready at the marked temperature. I dislike the fact the water tray is in the bottom because when and if you move the whole grill, it spills the water or geese everywhere making it even more difficult to clean the grill. Ideally the product was a great idea but it had too many flaws. About 2 months ago the fan stopped working when you push the button but if I gave it a little bang it would turn on. Out of no where the power on the device just stopped working so I can longer use the device. The thing I hated the most is that you cannot put the whole thing in water to clean it out. You have to clean each piece individually and the base of the grill you can only wipe down and not sink wash. I bought this in June 2019 and in April 2020 it has completely died on me. I tried to call the number on the manual but the office is closed. I ended up getting a griddle from Walmart for way less than half the cost of this. :-( Wishing for my money back!

I was skeptical but...
I ordered this product on the recommendation of my mother who was raving about it. I had an old one that smoked so I really didn't want to but you know moms. Anyway, it has not smoked at all so far. I've used it twice now - once to make pork chops using the grill and second time used the griddle. The clean up is very easy. It is a little bit of a pain having to remove the grill, heating element and pan to get to the water pan but all in all I would recommend it. We love to BBQ when the weather is good, but we live in Alberta and it can change in a heartbeat so it's nice to have an indoor option to grill that doesn't set off our smoke alarm.

We Love this
This is truly smokeless. I think though that you can get smoky flavor if you want with a foil pack on top. (Have not tried yet.) It works very well. Chicken needs higher temperature and longer cooking but other things are really nice. Our stove went out the day after we got this so handy. I even made cupcakes in t and could make biscuits. .

Great for indoor grilling!
Nice compact grilling unit and the smoke extractor works really well. Set up was a breeze and I was grilling right after I washing all of the components. Grilling works just fine and food cooks very evenly. I was surprised at how fast the food cooks and the grill marks look great. Don't expect outdoor barbecue flavour but overall, the taste is just fine. The glass lid does help seal in the flavour and so you should always cook with the lid on. If there is a down side, it's the cleaning. The hardest part is washing the grill which has many nooks and crannies for food to trap into. Otherwise it's perfect!

Compact and useful
Wife loves it! Replace all the devices with this one. Having less smoke made a huge difference in our apartment, also the quality of the food turns out to be quite good as one may think it won’t taste same. I suggest buy and try it out as well! It’s better than toaster!
