SQUARE BIT BETTER THAN POINTED BIT
I am new to using these, but I wished I had them throughout the years. I am a DYI'er and the bane of professionals who have not benefited from my checkbook over the years. The first one of these (7/8") I tried as shown in the first photo just didn't work. The S7/8 bit is used on a 3/4" copper pipe as the nominal outside diameter of such pipe is 7/8". Using a mircrometer the blade it measured 22.163mm. 7/8" in a finer measurement like millimeters is 22.225. So as you can see the blade is just not wide enough to leave the desired size swage. Also the design of it left a funnel shaped swage instead of a pipe shaped swage. I returned the funnel shaped ones and got these, the ones I am reviewing. The 7/8" one measured 22.316 mm, which slightly larger than 7/8". It made a more suitable shaped swage and eventually worked as advertised. I found that preheating the pipe on 3/4" copper made it easier to swage. I also found by redrilling and wobbling the bit after the pipe cooled down made the fit better. This makes sense because when the metal is hot it is malleable and expands, when it cools it contracts. So redrilling completes the swage. No heating or redrilling was required for the smaller bits. Do not use an impact driver for these bits as it will deform the swage.

Takes too long
These will work, but we ended up buying a hydraulic swage to make the joints faster.

Work Decent
These work fairly well but I wish they had more solder inside to completely flow throughout wiring

Too short, doesn't lock into my impact driver.
I have to use a standard drill. Won't lock into my impact. That kinda sucks.
