I am not a fan of the scent.

I've worn AXE my entire life, for a large portion I was using Dark Temptation and Gold Temptation however after noticing skin discoloration from using aluminum based AXE deoderant I decided to seek alternatives. Black Vanilla is aluminum free and smells great and offers a great value compared to a lot of competitors. Not a lot to complain about!

It Smells Like Axe Chocolate Nothing Premium

The AXE Black Vanilla Body Spray really impressed me! The scent is warm, smooth, and unique—vanilla blended with a hint of orange and sandalwood makes it feel more like a premium cologne than a regular body spray. I grew up in the era of Axe spray and I thought it was all putrid. I started seeing the ads and viral videos saying this particular scent rated better in some silly tests than Tom Ford so I had to check it out. It actually does smell fantastic. You still have to be super-gentle on the trigger or you'll smell like a teen boy from the early 2000s, but if you manage the dose it is a good fragrance and lasted about 6 hours.

Decent body spray, I would say. It feels a bit overhyped though. The fragrance is nice but lasts only a few hours. Based on the reviews I read, I was expecting more than this. But at this price point it’s still not bad.

Lots of opinions on this… It’s more ice cream vanilla with the orange it becomes an ice milk/orange popsicle smell. The sweetness is tempered some by a little bit of sandalwood. It is definitely a pleasant sweetness like many colognes today so it’s modern. Perhaps not for too old or too serious. Is it that classy or upscale ? Well it’s good for casual wear. I am not sure a formal event would work with this whereas the Dark Temptation variety actually might. But here’s a thought. Buy both - spray one half of you with one and then the other. If you like sultry chocolate orange well now you’re nearing heaven…. It actually works well in combinations…
