Just finished Pastor Ron Miller's book. It felt like I had a life coach in my ear, especially in the first half, reminding me... I CAN do it, HOW to do it, and WHY I should do it.The second half was even more inspiring as Ron talked about service, forgiveness, and thankfulness even when we don't get, or achieve, what we believed we were entitled to.An easy and inspiring read which I have recommended to many!

I've been an avid reader of growth, leadership and personal development books over the past 3 decades. This book offers so much that it is certain to resonate with everyone in some way. I loved the stories of Ron and his journey of how he overcame adversity, trusted and persevered thru many seasons of his life. Each chapter has a unique theme to serve as a guide to meet you where you are at today or will be in the future. I appreciate how he has practical questions at the end of each chapter to challenge you to consider what pivot moves you need to make in order to move to a more effective position from your current state. The author is so wise by including quotes from dozens of famous figures from all walks of life which connect with the main point of each chapter. He does a great job of including many applicable scriptures which tie his stories and quotes with the topic he is emphasizing. I did not realize how many famous athletes Ron had the experience of playing alongside during his collegiate career. You will go on a journey to read about his struggles, hopes and victories; on the court and in life; and how all of these have shaped him and continue to play a role in his life today. If you're looking for a book to walk thru with a team member to help them develop strong characteristics and values, then Let the Scoreboard Do the Talking can serve that purpose well. This book is inspirational, much like the movie Rudy, and it will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next and cause you to consider moments in your life and how you can learn from them to help you optimize and expand your capacity to grow. Really enjoyed reading his life story with lessons learned, Bible quotes and stories about so many FSU athletes that I remember.

Ron and I grew up together playing basketball for competing high schools and oftentimes met with friends at the local Tallahassee hooping parks during he summer in the mid 80s. I've enjoyed watching his career over the years since completing his collegiate playing days at FSU. It meant a great deal when I received his note a few weeks ago asking me to read his new book and provide a quick review."Let the Scoreboard Do the Talking" is a timely read during these difficult times that call for transformational and servant leadership. Ron's use of personal stories, scripture, and quotes from music, theater, and politicians spoke to me as I reflected on my own experience and what I am called to do in my personal and professional journey. Ron Miller Jr. takes us on a journey through his life and the many challenges he faced in a way we can all relate to. Most importantly he reminds us how giving our trials to the Lord can alleviate the anxiety and uncertainty that falls upon us when we try to solve our problems in the flesh. The principles he mentions throughout the chapters really spoke to me as he breaks things down on how we can apply those principles to our lives when facing challenges. I highly recommend this book to everyone that is seeking guidance in navigating through their journey of life.
