Xsteady Mount Plate Adapter for GoPro Hero 6/5/4/3 Series DJI Osmo Zhiyun Mobile Gimbal Handheld, Switch Mount Plate for Zhiyun Feiyu Phone Handheld Gimbal

I bought this to use with my Yi action cameras and my Smooth Q gimbal. The fit and finish out of the box is really good, and being aluminum (I think), it should be plenty durable. However, I was rather disappointed to find that my Yi 4K+ doesn't really fit into it correctly. That is, there is a recessed area on one side that seemed like an obvious place to put the camera, but the camera is too wide to fit in that area. I haven't dug out my original Yi camera, but I'm going to bet that it will fit. And, very possibly the GoPro line should fit. But the Yi 4K line has a slight curvature on both right and left sides that prevent it from fitting in.I was able to work around the issue by mounting the camera on the other side, but it just isn't as polished that way, and you have to align the camera yourself. I may glue or stick something to the plate to help align the camera, but that seems like a less effective method to me.Once I got the camera mounted, it seemed to work fine in my Smooth Q, and I'm very confused by the other reviewer saying it was too heavy. I can only assume they mounted it incorrectly. I had no noise, no heat, and smooth action while using it.

I couldn't find any research on gopro hero 7 used with product, so I figured I'd try. Don't use GoPro Hero 7 with this product with DJI Osmo 3. Gave it four stars because It's not their fault, I just wanted to try it.

This is a sold metal adapter that makes it super easy to balance on your gimbal easing the load on the motors. (Note do not insert all the way into phone gimbal mount as you would with your phone) I more or less centered the solid bit of the adapter in my gimbal jaws and this was nearly perfectly balanced on mine. This also makes it easier to keep gimbal pivot from showing up in fov.

The X-Steady is good at what it does, holding an action camera, in my case a GoPro Hero 4 Silver. The problem is once it's mounted on the adapter, no matter how you configure it on there the angle of the oense is too WIDE and you see the arm of the Gimble. I will use the X-STEADY to shoot better free hand but not with the Gimble.

Very pleased with the adapter. It fit exactly as it should and easily adjusted to balance my gimbal. Very pleased.

Despite what one of the answers were in the Q & A, the Yi Lite will not fit in the recess. Pretty pointless to have it.Yes, the Yi Lite will fit ON it, but I am sure it would look pretty ghetto trying to rig it. I wish YI would jump on the bandwagon and make their own.

Works with this rig. Due to the wide POV you'll want to use the Osmo in "flashlight" mode. Works great!
