I am so dissatisfied. I bought these for our vacation to universal studios and they fell apart day 1 in the morning and I had to walk around with defective shoes all day.

Great Look, Great Fit, but Didn't Last SEVEN Months
I discovered these sandals on the feet of some friends who I know to research everything, so I wanted to believe. I bought myself a pair ($100 plus, forget exactly) last November 21, 2014. They fit and looked great for about 3 months...then the stitching started to fall apart on one shoe. A month later, the stitching on the other side began to unravel. The sides of both shoes have now completely separated and it's too late for Amazon to take them back. If someone from Keen is reading, I'd be interested to know if my experience is something of which you already knew.

Great Design! Crappy Execution!
I have owned at least 6 pairs of these, even though they are just plain flimsy. Why? For one thing, I have neuromas of the foot and these, with their roomy toebox and excellent insole, are the most comfortable. For another, no other shoe I have owned has better traction on wet rock, far better than hiking boots with their lug soles. So, of course, Keen makes the Arroyo, which abandons the watershoe sole of the Newport for the same old crappy lugs of hiking boots. But the bad part is the STITCHING, which seems to have been done with OOOO sutures. The bosses on the sides begin to separate nearly immediately. Glue and staples can prolong life a little. The leather Newports don't have these bosses, but sometimes the sole, itself, collapses internally. The vast majority of buyers just love these sandals! Why? Cuz they seldom get off their butts and really hike!!

fell apart at the seams
after like a few weeks or so (maybe longer) of having bought these the stitching came apart with normal use at the heel on the flap where the keen logo is ... i got some leather and tried to mend it and reinforce it but the grey composite material behind the black synthetic veneer material is awfully difficult to penetrate with a needle (and thread) i got to about two or three passes through before I gave up.I had a cheap knockoff version of these before which i really liked by the brand of 'outland' which i can't find anywhere on the internet , and it had problems like this all the time , I was, however, able to repair it often with needle and thread and shoe goo. it's appearance standard wouldn't hold up at a fancy dress party but i'm not the sort who has a social life so I didn't have anyone to impress. i wore them till there were holes in the bottoms of the sole which i patched from the inside with duct tape ... and then they deteriorated beyond repair faster than i could be bothered to mend it.which is why i bought these.keens...i haven't used them in a while... they are still newish.. i really like this design for its comfortableness and breathe-ability which is why i was keen to buy them ,traditional sandals always left blisters on my feeti usually wear a size fourteen but in this style size fifteen fits me much better.i usually just get my shoes from second hand stores like 'goodwill' . because i am poor but made an exception for these and bought them new from this site because the chances of running into them second hand is slimpicture one is of the outer heel of the left shoe , the second photo is a picture of the inner heel of the right shoe. the third photo is a picture of the outer heel of the right shoe. .. i used white thread to mend.. in the first photo the shoe is unmended because i found it difficult to do so...like i said the needle was difficult to push through.

garbage
i don't know what has happened to keen. i've been wearing their sandals since 2006 and this latest pair i ordered was complete junk. they fit way too tight and were very stiff. this is my fourth pair of keen newports in the same size, so i know exactly how they should fit. these were just wrong.i should also note, my first pair of keens lasted about eight years and were amazing. they saw many destinations around the world. i retired them when the sole started separating in the back. my second pair only lasted a couple years and the sole of both completely delaminated and fell apart. even though the construction was seemingly on a downward trend, i ordered this replacement pair. i returned them immediately.if you still want keen sandals, consider trying their american made versions. i ended up with the rialto sandals. they don't fit quite as wide as my old newports, but they don't squeeze my feet or prevent splay either. the different feel took some getting used to, but they are much higher quality overall. they do have an insole that soaks up water and squishes as you walk, but it's not terrible and they still dry faster than a pair of shoes would.

Disappointed
I generally love Keens, I think I have about 5 pairs of other Keen shoes in circulation. I've rarely worn these and the threading is already coming apart. I've asked to have them fixed or replaced, and my purchase is out of the return window. I will certainly think twice about buying another pair of these Keen shoes. Really disappointed. If Keen is able to help, I'd appreciate it!

Perfect gift! lighter profile than original Keens, but still secure and comfortable and look great!!
Bought these as a gift for my husband who loves his Keen hiking boots so much that he bought a back-up pair of Keen boots. This is saying a lot because he's a forester, is in some kind of boot most of the time, and has tried them all. He has hard feet to size footwear for, as they're wide and also flat. Since this Keen brand seemed to work so well for him, I ordered 2 variations of these sandals (as well as 2 sizes of each) as a bday gift, so he'd be able to choose the best fit. The other Keen sandal I ordered was the original Keen sandal. I thought the older original and sized up would probably be the best fit for him best based on reviews I'd read, but it was these lighter lower profile sandals in his actual size (not the sized up pair) that fit him spot on!. A perfect match! And, with their lighter design, they looked way better on him than the heavier Keens. So happy these worked out -- they look great (not too hulkish), and he loves them! A Plus is that these sandals ventilate well, and also cover up his bruised up toenails that he gets from year round field work on steep terrain in cleated hiking boots.

Quality walking sandal but UK sizing needs adjustment
Arrived sooner than expected and quality good. Pleased with the delivery, colour, design, look and feel but they are too small and I’ve returned them for a larger size. My feet are regular Eu size 8. Taking advice from other reviewers I ordered a half size up. Not enough. I struggled to get them on as the heel strap has to be pulled up. Once in them, they were a very snug fit, comfortable but tight. I would possibly have kept them and worn them in if getting them on was easier. But then my other half tried them on. Slipped on no trouble. Perfect for a 7.5 sized foot. So in our case, one size up is needed, not one half.Ps: now have a size 9 and it fits perfectly. Thank you seller. However, from the slightly rumpled paper packaging and the loosened front loop, I think these have been sent out before to a customer and returned. It would help if the seller issued guidance on US vs UK sizing as continual return postage must be eating into their profitability, as well as causing inconvenience.

A Quality Product.
Purchased at £53.00 as part of planning for The Camino de Santiago.Package arrived one day early in excellent conditionI'm pleased I payed attention to some of the other reviews that suggested going for one size up; on doing so the fit is snug and wide.First impressions are that they look like a quality product and nothing shouts out at me as a defect.I'll be using these for light hikes along the Camino and evening wear after a long day in bootsThe fact that they can take a soaking and be thrown in a washing machine is a plus that I'll be taking advantage of on the trail.I'm pleased with my purchase and even more so that I didn't pay the RRP which is a bit prohibitive.Hope this helps.

Keen Newport H2 review
My third pair of Newports. I’ve worn one pair out in two years and I walk a lot of miles as I love hiking and backpacking. My app tells me I average about 11-12 miles a day over a year. Use them all year round for walking around town, going to the pub, playing golf, hiking on trails in the mountains, etc. In winter I team them with waterproof socks.Pluses: extremely comfortable hiking sandals, very good toe protection, very durable and long-lasting. Fit true to size. The elastic tightener is reliable, doesn’t accidentally loosen and holds the foot in the footbed. Dry out quickly. Thick soles give loads of cushioning on rough ground. Can be washed clean easily when they get muddy.Negatives: Footbed is dimpled to aid grip and ventilation. When new it’s a little abrasive so I wear those invisible/ankle socks to reduce friction. Like all sandals little bits of stone can sneak in so I need to stop walking and give them a shake. Neither are serious issues.Personally I find driving a car when wearing them is ok but thick soles mean some adjustment to the driver’s seat is needed. They suit me perfectly and I trust them.

Most Comfortable Sandals I Have Ever Worn
I bought these sandals to wear when riding my ElliptiGO cycle in the hope that they might help prevent a problem I have with the soles of my feet burning up during an extended period of riding. Before trying them on the bike I put them on to wear in the house to 'break them in' and evaluate how my feet took to them. Satisfied, after five hours wearing them, I tried them on the bike, which is stationary - attached to a turbo-trainer in the garage for the winter. They remained comfortable during one hour of constant pedalling during that ride and have since managed to undertake up to three hours continuous pedalling before my feet started to burn! The wide fitting and ample toe-box is also worthy of mention, as it affords the room for the feet to expand and wriggle room for the toes during prolonged exercise, as well as working well with the toe-cages on my ElliptiGO.I wear the Keens without socks, use them daily in the house, as well as alternating them with trainers for my rides and they are still fresh and clean! The foot bed is extremely comfortable and my feet do not slide around. The elasticated upper too is very comfortable, despite me having a high instep. My high instep means that I have to use both hands to grip the front and rear tabs to open the sandal and pull it over my instep, but it is worth the effort to bathe my feet in comfort! I wear the Keens with the drawstrings loosened completely off to keep the pressure off my insteps (which also suffer from laces, when my feet swell), although I do tighten them before riding to prevent my toes from working their way up against the toe-box. With the drawstring slackened off, and my high instep, the elastic compression of the upper is sufficient for everyday walking.

Really comfortable 'all-terrain' sandals
First up, I've only had these a couple of weeks so I will edit the review if they subsequently fall apart. That said......these are the most comfortable sandals I've owned! I've used them regularly over the past couple of weeks going out for our 'lockdown walks'. One of these walks was over 7 miles and all with no problems. So comfortable, no blisters and still allowing my feet to breath. What I particularly like is when walking through undulating terrains, such as woodland trails, is that the sole gives real protection to the underside of my foot. Not always the case with sandals.I don't know if the cost is too high for a pair of sandals but, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
