Higgins & Burke Bergamia Grey, Loose Leaf, Black Tea, Keurig K-Cup Brewer Compatible Pods, 24 Count

Great flavour but the quality has dropped a bit. It's not as strong as it used to be.

I'm an Earl Grey drinker, and tried this out of curiosity because it said it included not only Bergamot, but also Rose Petals. You may think of rose as a sweet, floral scent, but rose oil is bitter (and medicinal) and I'm familiar with it in a lot of Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine. I thought it would blend well with the bergamot-orange profile of the usual Earl Grey type of tea. I was right. It isn't sweet at all (unless you add sugar, of course). The rose oil blends very well with the orange notes making Bergamia Grey a good alternative to regular Earl Grey when I want something different. My adult son tried some when during a visit, and also became hooked on it. It is a bold-flavored black tea with an interesting mix of sharper high notes that is really well-blended. I take mine black. My son takes his with cream and sugar. It seems to work well either way depending on your preference. On the female side, my partner likes it as well, but uses Stevia (Skinnygirl, I think) to take the edge off of it. I haven't tried it that way, but she says it brings out the softer floral notes of the rose as well as the orange flavor. I'll take her word for it. The other reviewer who complained that the flavor/aroma stayed in the Keurig--I haven't noticed that to be a problem, and I'm very particular about my coffee. After using any kind of Earl Grey, however, I pop out the little k-cup holder and rinse it well then dry it before putting it back in the machine. Quick, easy and no problems at all.

I ordered the birgamia grey and roaring black teas. So far, I have tried the birgamia grey so that's what this review is for. This tea smells amazing and it brews well with minimal residue from the tea leaves. I used the medium size cup option on my keurig. I added about 1.5 teaspoons of sugar to the tea, but no milk. This is a light-tasting black tea but it is also very fruity. It does have a lemon taste to it, but I do not detect the soapy taste that others complained about. Overall, I like this tea. It essentially tastes like a fruity earl grey tea. This is also the first loose leaf keurig tea I have tried and the loose leaves really do bring out the flavor.

I love this tea. It is fragrant and tasty. Perfect any time of the day. The packaging is the same as other types of teas and coffees suitable for Keurig machines. I do wish someone would rethink that. This is my favorite version of Earl Gray.
