Worth the little extra
I bought this laptop after my Asus Zephysus failed and quit working one year after buying it from best buy. This is my third ROG. My first one from 2014 never failed me but in 2023 i figured it was time for an update. The Strix has none of the problems the Zephysus had. I have zero heat issues, it can play all the games i want it to (and they look great). It powers up fast and i have had zero issues with crashes or blue screens of death. It has been very reliable for every task i have need it for. I deploy quite often so the laptop is one of my few forms of entertainment. When im at home i can take it room to room to be with my family and use it. This is something you can't really do with a console. This was twice the price of my last laptop and the most expensive of the three ive owned, but to me it is worth the price. It has all the bells and whistles with led lighting around the base and keyboard if you care about that. The biggest plus for me though was that it is user friendly. I prefer the NVIDIA interface to the AMD and the asus apps. I am not the most technological and just want the games a buy to play the best on the computer i have. If you are trying to choose between ASUS ROG products just go ahead and pull the trigger on this one, you wont regret it. Don't forget to add the Amazon warranty, better to have it and not need it and all that.

Solid computer
This is solid computer, a but loud, really hot during high performance games, but completely adequate for quality gaming. I had no issues with it or the delivery. Screen may be a bit small, but it works for me. It’s decently fast, image quality is good. Battery life is ok for general functions, not so good for gaming. I got it during sale for a sweet 20% off deal, which made it even better.

Extremely buggy/pixelated screen
Amazing computer at first. I bought it march of this year and the performance was amazing. I'm in the military and as a gamer, a gaming laptop is a must for me. Constant 240 frames on most games. But around three months after I got the laptop, it became completely unusable for games. The screen would become pixelated and the laptop would basically only be useful for watching things. I'm overseas and getting it checked out is a huge hassle. I've done everything I could to try and fix it but nothing works. It's been around 3 months and I still haven't been able to get it fixed. Would be a great laptop if this didn't happen.

A good product
I think it's a good product and worth the money, but it's not perfect. Be aware that Asus's advertising can be a bit confusing. This model does not have an illuminated numpad on the trackpad. Additionally, it doesn't have a camera compatible with Windows Hello or a fingerprint reader, so you always have to enter a PIN to log in. Regarding battery life, I haven't been able to make it last more than 3 hours, which might be an issue with my settings. The screen is good, but there is noticeable light bleed. Overall, I don't regret the purchase.

I'd rate it a 3 star but the screen gives it a 4 star
I've used the Asus ROG Strix G16 (RTX 4070 - Intel i9) for 9 months, and here’s my honest review. Background: I purchased this laptop to replace both my Surface Laptop 2 (for work) and my gaming desktop (RTX 2070 - Ryzen 5 3600). While it has mostly replaced both, it falls short in some key areas. Work Performance: Coming from the Surface, I’ve had to compromise: Webcam: Subpar compared to the Surface's excellent one. Keyboard: Occasionally misses keystrokes. Trackpad: Among the worst I’ve experienced—functional, but a major downgrade. However, the screen is stunning, and the refresh rate is exceptional, making it visually amazing for general use and especially for gaming. Let me say, Elden Ring on Ultra Setting and Ray Tracing (about 40-50 fps) is easily the most beautiful game I've ever seen. I was used to 1080p but with this screen games look kind of 3D for some reason, and I love it. Gaming Performance: The laptop is better than my gaming PC in most respects, but there are drawbacks: Performance: Games run well, but don’t expect miracles. With the 2K screen, ultra settings at 80+ FPS aren’t always achievable. The laptop RTX 4070 is roughly 50% weaker than its desktop counterpart. Speakers: Easily the worst I’ve encountered on a laptop—super quiet even at max volume. Additional Pros & Cons: Pros: Expandable Storage: Comes with a 1TB SSD and room for upgrades. I added 2TB, bringing the total to 3TB. Upgradeable RAM: Default 16GB isn’t sufficient for multitasking or external monitors. I upgraded to 64GB (5600MT/s) for future-proofing. Cons: Battery Life: Barely lasts 2 hours even on battery-saving settings. To extend battery life, you must disable the Nvidia GPU via Windows Device Manager—not user-friendly. Cooling: Default fan profiles allow the CPU to hit 100°C. You’ll need to manually configure fans in Armoury Crate. Even then, the Intel i9 runs hot and is power-hungry. Asus Aura Sync: Not supported. Keyboard RGB options are limited to basic presets. Build Design: The charging cable is short, forcing the power brick to rest on your desk, bed, or hang awkwardly. Screen: Advertised as HDR-capable, but this only applies to external HDR monitors, not the laptop's screen. Weight: It’s heavy and bulky, so portability is limited. Conclusion: My goal was to replace my working laptop and gaming PC in a “all in one” device. Does it deliver? Yes but half way. It’s a powerhouse but not enough of a powerhouse to compete with desktops and it’s a not enough of a “laptop” to feel like you have a portable computer as it’s super heavy and it’s almost always connected to the wall. I don’t know how other gaming computers compare, considering the different price ranges, but overall, I’m satisfied with what I was able to afford to achieve the goal of replacing a gaming PC and a thin working laptop.

Very Strong Laptop
The storage capacity is good, along with the RAM capacity. The graphics card is great as well. The laptop has a great build, as it's made out of metal and has pretty high quality parts for its price point. The laptop is also good at staying cool with its 3 fan system and is fairly bright, even with an antiglare monitor. The i9 is very fast, as it has 8 performance cores and 16 effeciency cores (24-cores total). 16 GB RAM is nice at not causing freezing for most tasks, but upgrading the RAM is suggested if you wish to use this for gaming. Upgrades are easy too, as both the SSD and the RAM are not soldered and click in and out of the laptop's motherboard. Plus, there are 2 SSD slots and 2 RAM slots, with 1 free SSD slot if you want to purchase an extra storage card to have additional storage on top of the 1 TB SSD that is provided. Overall, this choice is amazing if you want a quality gaming laptop at a reasonable price point. The only suggestion I would have for buyers is upgrading the RAM if using for heavy gaming.
