Thank God for cliffhangers..
RR had me hooked right outta the gate. Office flirting, taboo attraction no-no’s…awesome. Add a paranormal element and it levels up to a resounding , “yayess”!! I loved Madi Evans’ strong, independent character. Just awesome character description and details. Everything about her rang true. Even though she’s been accepted to several Ivy League schools, she decides to forego that direction to get a job on Wall Street for the sole purpose of paying her brother’s college tuition. Then there’s CEO Brick Blackthroat, who couldn’t be described less than the big, delicious cherry on an orgasmic hot fudge sundae. What an outstanding character RR gave us. The conflict Madi brings to the office and the under pressure frustration within Brick was described to perfection. Secondary characters are equally great. Office drama, business politics, competitive friction, sexual tension….all are well executed and believable. This was an exemplary and suspenseful beginning and I thank the Heavenly Lord above it’s not over.

Loved this book
This is. A great book and I could not put it down. I devoured in one sitting. I was hooked right from the moment Madison and Brick met in chapter 1. This book was well written. I really enjoyed the banter and back and forth between them. She really keeps him on his toes. I like how he can’t seem to resist her and how she’s not afraid of him like everyone else is. The issue is that she’s human and he can’t mate a human. His pack will weaken and his enemy will kill them all. They have hot chemistry and some very steamy scenes.I really enjoyed book 1 of this trilogy and can’t wait to continue on to the next one. I recommend this book and can see me reading it again.

Wow
What an intense story with Madison and Brick. The ending is frustrating but still very entertaining. Some of the characters are annoying but story is interesting.

Brick can be my boss any day
What a cracker of a story this was by this talented duo. I loved every minute of it, andif this is the standard we can expect from this series, then we are in for a treat. I enjoyedthe push and pull, the game of Cat and Mouse, and the quirky dialogue that had mein tears of laughter. The characters were real with flaws, and once I started reading thisbook, I could not stop. This couple teetered on a fine edge between lust and anger, andI can't wait to see how it plays out. My only complaint was that I was frustrated with thecliffhanger ending, although now I have something to look forward to with the next book.Maddison was no shrinking violet, and she loved pushing Brick’s buttons. I admired herbrilliant mind and her quick retorts. She loved wearing dresses to get a reaction out ofBrick’s, and boy, he reacted big time. Maddison Evans threw away her opportunity tofurther her education to get a well-paying job on Wall Street so that she could pay forher brother's College tuition. An anonymous donor had paid for her education, so sheneeded to repay the gift. Becoming Brick Blackthroat’s assistant was a challenge thatshe thrived on.Brick was the CEO of Moon. CO. A wolf shifter and Alpha of his pack. He was an enigma.Such a complex man, and the snippets you get from his past paint a picture of anemotionally scared man. He is nonplussed and can't understand his reaction to Maddison. Her scent makes him lose control. She ignites his passion, but she is off-limits. He wantedher and was fascinated by her, and despite his reservations, he took her.The chemistry between Maddison and Brick’s was off the charts. It was explosive anddelicious. This was a fast-paced book that left me wanting more from this couple. Itlived up to my expectations and kept me riveted from beginning to end.

Brick's assistant's assistant
I was debating whether to give this a 4 or 5 because it ends in a huge , I'll repeat that, huge cliffhanger. I can't wait until April to read the (hopefully) conclusion to the story. Not sure if it is a duet or trilogyI love the banter between the two MCs.I especially loved Madi. She is whip smart , her memory phenomenal. And pushing's Brick's buttons to new levels. I also like that she can look him in the eyes and tell him exactly what she thinks. She helps in quite a few "crisis" situation. Thinking like a human, giving the Alpha that point of view.Brick is the type of alpha who fires people on the spot, but can't quite do that to Madi. He expects everyone to jump when he says jump. I love the banter between them. Her "whys" were fun to read. The world building was very good. Written well. Slow burn to the "romance" . But once they get there it is hawt. His "nicknames" and how she got them put a smile on my face.I loved immersing my imagination of Madison and Brick's world.

Noooo! Literally yelling as I got to the end!
What a cliffhanger!! That ending is going to weigh on me until the sequel comes out!!Write faster, my friends :0)I loved this book. Truly I did. But a few things bugged me, too.For the most part it was Devil Wore Prada but...hey, now with werewolves!Sometimes it seemed like the werewolf aspect was forgotten until the authors thought the reader needed to have some wolfie stuff thrown in to remind us this wasn't just an alpha boss-hole story. This story could have worked just as an office romance.Madison's music moment was a fun character bit. I understand that scene was to make Blackthroat see Madi in a different light. It worked and was delightful . I hope more comes of her doing something that fun and unexpected. What a great moment when she's on stage shredding when we thought (like Blackthroat ) she was this totally professional , organized assistant and wow! that girl played on the stage! That she jams on a bass--That was unique! One small bother --the characters knew Lucius --the main vamp/ruler of this area. Surely they also knew or had heard of the other alphas that have come thru or are around the area that had human mates? It's all the same universe.Great story like everything you both do.Now finish the sequel already ❤️❤️ :0)

Brick and Madison... a story!
This book grabbed me from the opening page into the world of Madison. Her plan to help her brother attend prestigious NYU by getting a job on Wall Street brings her into Brick's world. The sparks fly during her first meeting with the Big Bad Boss on her first day on the job.We are pulled into the Alpha Wolf's world and his pack's expectations of successfully regaining top wolf pack status again. Brick struggles with his desire for a human that he just can not walk away from. The choices he has to make for his pack to remain strong and intact are at war with what his heart wants. What are the secrets between Brick and his mother? Why is the Alpha so drawn to a human? What are Madison's secrets that even she doesn't know? We are going to have to wait till Book 2!This book was so well written. I can't wait to read the rest of the story to get the answers!

Good Story
I am looking forward to the rest of this series. I do like a strong female lead and to see a super alpha male pulled into caring for her despite his responsibilities has me intrigued as to how the next book is going and that is not forgetting the sticky situation of the the rival pack. Well deserved 5*.

Steaming hot!
Brick is the wolf-shifter boss and Madi is his human assistant, but that doesn't stop them from steaming up the pages in this story, the first in a new series and their trilogy.I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
