Nice rug, but you wear a flex pricing!
Beware of flex pricing on this item I bought it for $84 and change, the next day it was priced at $347, and a couple days later it was in the $250 range. Nice rug otherwise.

Not great on top of carpet even with carpet specified pad.
Great design but the rug bunches too much on carpet. I bought a rug pad specifically made to put carpet on carpet and it just wrinkles up when you walk on it. I also tried carpet tape but if you leave it on too long, no matter what it says it does leave a residue and since I rent, I didnโt wanna keep that.

So, so soft... but concerned with expeditious fading + longevity in high-traffic rooms.
I've held off on reviewing this rug until I got a real feel for how it would hold up. It's now been 2 months since I began using it as the main rug in my living room, which receives the most foot (and paw!) traffic compared to any other location in my house. First, I absolutely LOVE the texture of it. It's so, so soft. I have multiple other brands of washable rugs in bedrooms, and thus far, NuLoom takes the cake in both softness and overall quality. It doesn't seem to hold stains like standard rugs do, and it's a breeze to spot clean which is crucial with kids and pets. I *am* a bit concerned about how long it will actually hold up, though. While washable rugs have a lot of benefits, they are much thinner compared to your standard rug. I had my previous living room rug for 5 years, and before replacing it with this one it certainly didn't look brand new, but I could have probably gotten another year or two out of it easily. With this rug, I've noticed the area that gets the most traffic already has noticeable wear and color loss. That's really concerning, especially since it's only been 60 days. To be fair, the rug is primarily red which is the dye color that is the most difficult to hold & is prone to faster fading. (I'm thinking of buying a different NuLoom brand rug in a bigger size and different color to replace this one since it has faded so much. That would give me an idea if it is in fact attributable to the red dye and not the product itself. If I go that route I'll do an in-depth review.) I'm so torn, because like I said this is absolutely the softest washable rug I've tried and seemed to be on the high end, quality-wise. But the fading, ugh! I think you're good to go if you're not using it in a busy room, but it may not be the top option for high traffic rooms, if longevity is your priority.

classic design, convenient to clean
In a house with kids and pets, we are all about making it easy to clean. This rug is perfect for that. It's very pretty and has a classic design. From a distance, you'd think it's a real woven rug. But it's not, it's like thicker velvet with the design painted on. Up close that's obvious, but it's a tradeoff worth making because the ability to just wash this when it's dirty is so convenient. This particular color combo of rust, black and brown hides dirt pretty well, so I don't have to wash this one as often as other rugs I have with lighter colors. When I do wash it, I sometimes have to do it twice because it is very large, and in our front loader washer theres no agitator, so the rug tends to ball up and some parts don't get as clean as others. This rug is now is in my teen's room, and it's nice and soft underfoot, does not slide around, looks good. Great find!

Not particularly "Persian" in craftsmanship nor design
At the time of my review, the title for this product is: "nuLOOM Judy Traditional Persian Machine Washable Area Rug" I have to address the "Persian" claim, and in this case, "does not apply." Neither the craftsmanship, nor the design itself is could be considered "Persian." To be fair, at this price, you truly should not expect to find an authentic traditionally made "Persian" rug, but that still does not change the fact that they've attempted to market it as such. Now the rest of the review will focus on the product itself and not so much the 'traditional Persian' claims. PROS: -Machine Washable. Anything you can throw in the wash is great easy affordable maintenance. -Lightweight. -Rubber backed to help it stay in place. -Soft. Barefeet on this feels quite nice. CONS: These are cons based on my opinion, though some are less than others. Your opinion may vary. -Thin. So at about 2.5mm, it's pretty thin, which also explains why it's lightweight. This also means you won't find much cushion. The thinness of it makes it feel more decorative than functional rug, but could possibly be the result of keeping it machine washable despite it's large 5x8' size. -The colors of the pattern are a little dull. So the rug itself is white, with a pattern printed on top of the fibers. The result of this is you can easily see the white behind the print, resulting in an overall lighter print. To be fair, the product is exactly as pictured, so this does not come as a surprise, and it's also not likely your guests will inspect your rug with a magnifying glass to point out defects. Overall, the rug itself is not a bad rug, especially if you're expectations aren't set too high. Unfortunately, with it being marketed as a "Traditional Persian Rug," they've set the bar quite high, falling short of that. If they had marketed it simply as "Area Rug" or something of the like, it would keep expectations in check and overall satisfaction would be much higher.
