no, you put it under the patient to move them or transfer them. it's very slippery so you don't sleep on it

how do you get the patient off the sheet after positioning them?

It requires turning the patient. The best thing about this device is that the design allows the caregiver to pull the patient up toward the head of the bed by standing at the head of the bed and pulling on the handles. The double thickness then allows you to easily slide the patient up.
